Pentair Warrior SE can no longer filter debris from impeller

Thanks for the reply. I spoke with Seth at Marina Pool, and he quickly helped me diagnose that the Rapid Drain Flap was missing! I didn't realize that it was ever there - it must have fallen off completely at some point. The springs and basket as intact, so hopefully that was it! $10 shipped...

Pentair Warrior SE can no longer filter debris from impeller

I have a Pentair Warrior SE robotic pool cleaner, which I think is the same model as Dolphin S200 and Dolphin Active 20. It first stopped working under warranty, and after Pentair sent me a replacement motor, I opened up the unit and found the remains of a lizard in the impeller. I cleaned it...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Good idea, again, thanks again for all of your help!

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Sorry, yes I thought that chart looked too high. So minimum 4.5% of CYA for SWG, but I'll go w/ the 10% like you suggest for 2 weeks and then lower. What FC % would you target, maybe 6%? If I target the minimum, I could get in trouble when the chlorine demand goes up, before I realize it. Thanks...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Thank you! Great thought - waiting a little before increasing the CYA in case I need to slam again. Yes, I did CYA recently and it's at 50. Wouldn't 11.5% of CYA (or around 10%, as you mention) as per: https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/chlorine-cya-chart.2177/ be a good target for the...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

So I did the mustard algae FC level for 24 hours and then stopped adding any chlorine - targeting 29.4 as my CYA is now 50. Here were my FC numbers: last night, end of mustard levels: 30.5 night 24-hours later: 16.5 am: 14.5 night: 11 am: 11 night: 9 am: 9 So I've passed the OCLT...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Thank you for that guidance! I'll let you know how it goes after the mustard algae FC increase and OCLT at a lower FC level. Really appreciate the help.

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

We haven't been swimming - I was unclear as to whether there was any problem with swimming at FC levels that high so we just kept out of the pool. So you think it would be OK if I now try going up to mustard algae levels now and see how it goes? I think years ago with another pool I had mustard...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Thanks for the reply. I did retest CYA, and it's now around 65-75 (so I'm still targeting FC of 29 for CYA 75). I was raising the chlorine several times per day with liquid chlorine at least during this last long weekend, so that by the evening reading, I was already at around 29-30 and didn't...

Mustard algae treatment with higher CYA (75)

Hello all. So my pool developed mustard algae, I think after the chlorine level decreased when I left town and with the heat and water evaporation, the water level went below the skimmer and warped some of the pipes, making the pump lose prime and stop working. The mustard algae, which I had...

Shocking pool for mustard algae, can't pass overnight FC test

Thanks, I'll take a look there. Thanks for the advice! Will get on my swimsuit and take them out

Shocking pool for mustard algae, can't pass overnight FC test

Hi, thanks for the reply. So this morning FC was 27, so a 1-point overnight drop and a 2-point FC drop in 24-hours without adding any additional chlorine. So I'm considering it passed! Going to start the mustard algae increase for 24 hours. By the way, what were you saying about the main drain -...

Shocking pool for mustard algae, can't pass overnight FC test

For some time I kept overlooking the stuff I could brush off the floor of my pool that looked like slightly greenish (on a light blue Diamond Brite) dirt. I thought when I replaced my robotic pool cleaner, that would fix the problem. Just of note - I've read several posts here when people ask if...

getting the right amount of flow to a pool heater after downgrading the impeller

The guys who installed the solar panels didn't know the nuances of solar installation, and they didn't install a VRV... that's on my list of what needs to be done. Was going to install that either below the gutter or on the horizontal part of the roof. Are you saying the pressure should be...

getting the right amount of flow to a pool heater after downgrading the impeller

correct. Pressures in high speed 18. This is bypassing all of solar plumbing, but the water can either go through the solar valve and check valve or around it, whichever path has the least resistance. correct (in high speed) correct (in high speed) The pool return pipe is 3". Two 2" pipes...
