I have a 24' above ground round doughboy. It came with a 1-1/2" pump. I need to replace the sand filter and I think it is a 20". Would that be the correct size filter for the pool?

I'm defiently down for the work! Tired of the baqua! My thoughts were in the spring to pull the pool down to about half to 1/4 full and convert that and then add fresh water. Was thinking it would be quicker. Any thoughts?

Is the "green water" a pain to deal with? Is it actually just geen water or is it slime on the pool liner ect...
