I just noticed our dog has torn two large holes in our winter pool Cover, each approximately 6 inches wide by 20 inches long. The pool is frozen, and I don’t see any thaw in the forecast for at least a couple weeks. What danger does this pose to the pool? Obviously, I need to repair it, but...

At the end of each day, I add enough free chlorine to bring it back up to 5. I should definitely test ph after adding acid. I’ve always just assumed I reached target. I will test ph after adding next time and see if it reaches the ideal.

No water features

TA is 60. I keep the chlorine levels balanced every day with liquid chlorine. I keep adding the recommended acid, but pool pH stays at 8.2/8.4 regardless. Any ideas what’s going on? Is this something I should worry about? Vinyl -lined pool, can’t say I noticed any discomfort, but worried it...

I never added sequestrant before. This year I bought a bigger pool, and it was taking so long to fill that the water started to turn brown before the water hit the pool outflows, so I got scared of staining and threw some sequestrant in. Big mistake! It added at least a week to the filtration...

Great! Thank you! I will keep my levels right and wait. The pool has started getting darker, and the polyfil filter is starting to darken, so I figure that means the sequestrant is starting to wear off, and the iron is coming out of solution and finally getting filtered out. But taking a lot...
