Slamming can't get FC any higher that 16

Yes gallons are correct and percentage is correct. I've been following the pool school rules for a few seasons and the chlorine calc has always been pretty accurate. I just added another gallon. I will check in an hour to see where I am at.

Slamming can't get FC any higher that 16

pH 7.4 Cya 40 (been 40 for the last month) fC 9ppm CC <0.5 Water is Crystal clear. And was when I noticed the algea as well. No visible algae on the walls only the floor. This morning fc was 15 and cc was 0. I dumped 2 gallons of 12.5% bleach before work. When I got home at 6 pm I tested it...

Slamming can't get FC any higher that 16

I mention mustard algea because I've been trying to deal with what I assume to be mustard or yellow algea for a few seasons now. It's brownish and keeps reapearing in the crevasses of my floor. I go through periods where I convince myself that it isn't algea at all, maybe pollen or something...

Slamming can't get FC any higher that 16

Well the title pretty much says it all but I recently had an algea bloom do to my own neglect. So I started a slamming this morning. Brushed it all up and tried to raise the pool to mustard algea levels based on my cya level of 40. That target was 24 ppm. I cannot get the fc above 16. Is there...

Local area pool store water testing descrepancies

While testing pump on or off shouldn't matter but you will want it on when adding chems to circulate properly. You will want to do all this in the evening. You can technically test any time of day but avoiding the sun is a good idea.

Tests seem good, but recurring "stuff" on the floor

It does puff up and disappear, however doesn't pollen do the same and also look brownish? Although seems late in the year for pollen issues.

Local area pool store water testing descrepancies

Start here if you haven't already http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/213-extended-test-kit-directions For the chlorine test only fill to 10 ml not 25 to start. You will use less drops this way. But you are doing it correctly, make sure you swirl the liquid after each drop it will turn from...

Tests seem good, but recurring "stuff" on the floor

Ive been battling this brownish looking stuff (see pics) accumulating on the floor of my pool for a few months. Although the pics makes it look more green then in real life. Its only on the floor, not the walls and accumulates in the ripples of the liner very slowly. I have vacuumed it out to...

Seeing big swings in TA and CH - New to this

Thanks for the response. I did read Pool school. In fact ive read every sticky here several times. I know I need to add more chlorine essentially more than needed so it never drops below recommended however ive been testing to see how much increases by how many ppm as the Pool Calculator was...

Seeing big swings in TA and CH - New to this

Ive been an uneducated pool owner for 7 years relying on the pool store for testing and chems. This all started when I was battling Mustard Algae/ Pollen (Still havent figured out which it was) either way I found this website and it set me on a new path with my pool. No more letting the pool...
