Ok the Viatmin C tablet worked! So now I will continue with the SLAM until the water meets the criteria of an algae free pool? Then go ahead to the AA treatment? Can we swim in between the two? I'd like to give the kids a few days before I tell them no pool again, thanks!

I'm hoping for some help here. We've been SLAMing our pool for about 5-6 days now and the water has turned yellowish and it's actually staining my white steps and it looks like the liner as well. The water has cleared up tremendously though, it was black when we opened it. I've had it at shock...

Should we backwash then? We just put new sand in before running it a week ago, there has been alot of junk from the trees falling though!

We've been up and running for about a week, with a psi consistantly at 10 and all of the sudden today there was nothing coming from the returns and no suction into the skimmer from what I could see, and the psi was at 20. We could still see water moving into the clear part in the pump though...

One more thing, what about the 3lbs of CYA that I added Tuesday? I put it in a sock over the return and it was dissolved in about 24 hours. I'd there a reason why they wouldn't have registered on the test?

I did my first set of tests today, we have recently re-filled our pool and the only things I have added thus far are 1 gal of 8.5% bleach Tuesday morning and about 3lbs(48oz.) CYA, also Tuesday. FC- 0 pH- >6.8? Wasn't quite the light orange color at the bottom, it was a little yellow TA- 10...

Actually the water was a little low, maybe an inch past the skimmer opening, we've had the hose in abd its filling up. After a few minutes the pressure leveled out and it's been running normal for about an hour. Definitely seemed liked air was getting in. My husband's picking up a gauge today...

Nm, he got it going! But our pressure gauge isn't working at all. Also, it seems that it's pulling water into the skimmer quickly for a minute or two then it slows down quite a bit then starts again... Not sure if that's normal?
