I tried to find some liquid chlorine on amazon, but didn't see very many options. do you have any suggestions on a good product? my CH is 267 ( I recently did 3-4 shock for a suspected algae problem)

thanks so much for the input. So you mean if I just use cal hypo power that comes in shock products to maintain the FC that should be enough? no need for those stabilized chlorine tabs then?

here is an update. I raised the cya to about 40ppm and then shocked the pool to bring FC to about 10-12 ppm day before yesterday (at night).. and maintained the chlorine level at about 5-6 ppm for about 36 hrs. by adding more shock, and this morning water is all clear and don't see the...

Hi All, I was wondering if I shock the pool every week or twice a week and I have Cya in about 40ppm, do I still have to use those 3 inch chlorine tabs in a floater? or that is redundant?

I am having the same thing. see my thread below. I did vacuum this afternoon, ran the filter (cartridge type) and after 1.5 hr good size visible clumps on the side of the pool where there were no clumps before vacuum. algae can't grow that fast to appear in big clumps in 1.5 hr.. I am puzzled...

right, but if there is test kit to directly assay for algae, thats the most definitive answer actually..if not, it's a product idea !! I used to work for a biomedical lab and I could take this stuff and look under the microscope and could know if it's really algae or just something else, but I...

when do they come though? we have never seen a duck when awake ! and I saw these repeatedly appearing after 5-6 days of cleaning. usually biggest difference I observe in the morning.. but they have been constantly appearing even after daily vacuuming.. I vacuum, brush, shock around 7pm...

Ragweed very well can be.. do they go to the bottom or float on the water? another Q, is there any home test for algae, like a chemical test or something?
