I have a 5000gal pool and a 1/3hp pump and sand filter. If I plumb with 2in PVC how far away can I place the pump without having an issue with head pressure becoming an issue?

I need to set up my pool in a new spot this summer. It will go where I used to plant my garden. What is a good way to make sure the ground is stable? Do I need to rent a jumping jack type of packer or something else?

Thanks! My wife bought a new pump and sand filter last fall the replace the one that came with the pool. It has a bonding lug on the pump. It also says not for use with above ground pools, but not why.

I'm talking about Intex and the like. The instructions don't mention it.

I live in Kansas. I wind never stops blowing and it very dry. If the pump doesn't run it's full of dirt, leaves and the water is not clear.

Just wondering. My intex ultra frame pool is about shot and I thought about trying it on the old one. I'm too chicken to try it on a new one. I did put a real skimmer on it last year.

Thanks for the advice on the salt test bob! I'd like to run the pump longer because where I live it is windy and dry, so I always get dirt and leaves in the pool.With the intex saltwater system it has the pump,filter and SWG all in one unit.You cannot run the pump at seperate times than tha SWG...

I have not tested the salt level. I just add the recomended mount of salt as I have in years past. I'll have to get something to test, what do you recomend? Also How can I run the pump longer without running the SWG? Keep in mind this an intex all in one settup. Thanks!

I have a low salt warning. I put in the same amount of salt as I have in past years, the cell is clean. I even tried a different cell. What else could be causing the problem. I'd also like the option to run the pump longer while not running the SWG. What about running the cell on a second...
