I lube up the orings on my IC60 then just give the unions about 1/8 turn additional after hand tightening using my big channel locks. I am 77 and cannot hand tighten things as tight as I used to be able to do. I have never had a leak after doing this, and have never brocken a union.

Thanks, Jim. I agree. Prying the cover off, removing and replacing the screws is by far the biggest part of the job. I don't know what a pool company would charge to do this, but seems like a very cost effective DIY project. Gary

I guess this should now be in the pumps and plumbing section, but I will finish my story. Rebuilt one of the two Jandy valves in my suction side plumbing and no more bubbles. I have four Jandy valves in my plumbing, all 30 plus years old. Time to rebuild all of them and stave off leaking...

Answered my own question. Disconnected IC60 and ran pump. Bubbles. So now I get to troubleshoot a suction side leak. Sigh. A little strange that the bubbles are only coming out of the return that is closest to the pump. Gary

Every time I take off my IC60, after inspection and cleaning if required I clean off the surfaces where the orings will contact, pull the orings off and clean, re-install them and then apply a good layer of silicone lubricant to the oring and mating surface. Same thing happened to me. Cell light flashing, just cleaned it spic and span 3 weeks ago. I only got 3 1/2 years out of this one and never used MA to clean, just water and popsicle sticks. Just ordered and new one from Polytec today.

Thepoolguystore.com canceled my order and refunded my money. Very fast and unexpected. I wonder if someone in their company saw this post on TFP and took some action. Thanks again, guys!
