Not new but returning after over a year

I thought I'd come by here and say hello and introduce myself again. Things got busy at work and I barely had time to swim, much less keep up with the forum. I retired at the end of April (after 37 years at the same place) and I've already spent more time in the pool this month than I did all...

    Recommendations for cover weight

Sorry, I didn't explain myself well. The argument was regarding his idea of floating it vs using weights. I love the idea of using this cover vs the heavy canvas cover that the previous owner used. I think he didn't realize what I was talking about because when I showed him a picture he asked...

    Recommendations for cover weight

I've searched and not finding anything, I'm coming to the experts for advice. We've not closed our pool in the past three years because we really only get below freezing weather about one or two weeks of the year and those days aren't contiguous. However, we fight leaves and debris every year...

    Working From Home #COVID

About a month ago, we had a warming period just south of the Atlanta Airport and the water temps were around 71*. We swam for a day or two and then the rain came and it got cooler again. Two weeks ago it was hot outside and I jumped in the pool just to cool off. Water temp was 63*. It was...

    Help identifying hot tub model

Chris, this is the same manual I found earlier today. I've just had a chance to sit down and read through it. Earlier I just read what I needed to know to access the plumbing and electrics. This is definitely the right manual.

    Help identifying hot tub model

We've owned this house 2 1/2 years and haven't touched the hot tub that was here when we bought the house. That's probably because the pool required a lot of repair and we just assumed the hot tub would as well. We're tackling projects since we have to stay home right now, so I decided to see...

What I see out my back door just past the pool

We have about 5 or 6 bucks about this size with similar racks and then equal number of does that come through our yard on a daily basis. They usually visit just after nightfall up until about 1:00 am. I'm not sure what had this big boy walking past my security camera in the middle of the day.

How the pool world can help the real World

Pool temp at 71* today. We threw the robot in for 6 hours, my husband put new cartridges in the filter and cleaned the ones he took out. I sprayed weeds around the fence with a vinegar solution and we both enjoyed swimming today. This is the earliest we've been able to swim in the 3 years we've...

What did you do to your pool today?

Ran a full set of tests yesterday. With all the rain we've had recently I think we've probably replaced 3/4 of the pool water with rainwater. I haven't worried about it much until this week when temperatures started rising. I was not surprised to find that the FC was 0; CYA was 20; PH was 6.8...
