How do I know my Hayward Super 2 pump is gone?

You nailed it! I just took the end cap off and saw an exploded start capacitor. I will replace the capacitor, do you know roughly how much they cost? Also, where do I spin the impeller blades to make sure it isnt the bearings? Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated. :-D

How do I know my Hayward Super 2 pump is gone?

I switch on pump and breaker trips. I hear power go to pump and it starts for a half second or so. Pump is ten years old. Timer clock working fine. We received about 2 inches of rain here in NH over the last 48hrs. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sodium Chloride vs Calcium Chloride to raise hardness

Glad to hear that there won't be an issue. Won't make this mistake again. Looking back, the price for these bags...

Hi, I inadvertently added sodium chloride ( salt) to my pool ( 80lbs worth) thinking that it was calcium chloride. I noticed that it did not raise the hardness of the water and realized that I put in the wrong product. Question: I plan on adding the correct product ( Calcium Chloride) tomorrow...
