Hayward ColorLogic Lights and OmniDirect Mode

Hi all! I have a couple questions: 1. How do we know if a light is ”new”? My lights are 3 years old and not compatible (I tested them on the OmniLogic). Hayward is replacing a couple of bad units for me and it would be awesome if the new ones were compatible. Can you tell by serial number? 2...

Help me with these stains on 1 year old Pebble, please!

If organic, is that just sometimes unavoidable, or is it from low chlorine or? Things we're going so well, just a little shocking when something like that shows up.

Help me with these stains on 1 year old Pebble, please!

Thanks for your reply. My water is from the water company. Since the stains were remarkably less after dumping chlorine over the spot, so you think they are organic? I can get trichlor as well. I think I'll go out another gallon of chlorine in because the FC is only at 5.

Help me with these stains on 1 year old Pebble, please!

Hi all, My PebbleTec pool is almost exactly one year old. I’ve been following the TFP method since minute one. My chemicals balance has been easy since the beginning thanks to you all! Yesterday, I noticed a bunch of brownish spots that seemed to happen overnight. They wouldn’t brush off. I...

    O/B Woodland Hills, CA

The weather sure has been crazy! We only put a 1/2" line in the back of the skimmer tied to the surface drains because I didn't want to see a wide mouth drain in the tile. That little line managed to hold up in the worst of the storms (water only got up to the bottom of the coping). Did yours...

A little help with my chemistry, please!

That's sort of what I'm getting at. I can appreciate that a TA of 100 (or even 110) is pretty close to the upper guideline of 80 so maybe I don't need to worry and it'll come down over time. I keep hearing that but how long should one wait? Also, the recommended level for CH for TFP, SWG...

A little help with my chemistry, please!

Thanks, Dave. I'm pretty confident on the pool volume because I used a metering device when I was filling it. What I could be missing is any salt that may have already been in the water? I didn't test it before adding. I'm hesitant to add the other two bags with the readings I'm getting...

A little help with my chemistry, please!

Thanks, I noticed that the CSI would become more negative with the lower TA. Perhaps that's not the most important first step. I think I will work on the CH first. Any concerns with my salt levels? Right now OmniLogic is reporting instant: 3300 with average: 3700ppm in the diagnostic but...

A little help with my chemistry, please!

The spa, yes. Not the pool though. I heated it once from 73-82 for one day and I think it cost $100. Why do you ask?

A little help with my chemistry, please!

Hi all, I'm a little over 1 month into my brand new pool (details in sig). I've been diligently handling the pool chemistry and I added the salt just over 1 week ago since I was supposed to wait 28 days for the pebble to cure. I followed PoolMath and bought 18 bags of salt but so far I only...

New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Pump problem - please help

Re: New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Plumbing & Equipment - New Pics! Since you're all Hayward, let me know if you have any questions about Omnilogic. I did a bunch of research and actually chose to go all Hayward because I was impressed with their approach to automation. Once I got...

New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Pump problem - please help

Re: New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Plumbing & Equipment - New Pics! I'm by no means an expert but I'm learning a lot! I met with a Hayward rep to help get my Omnilogic set up. One of the comments he made when he saw my equipment was that he was happy to see the SWG installed upside down so...

New Pool IG - Inland Empire, CA - Pool finished, end pix soon!

Re: New Pool IG - Inland Empire, CA - 9/15 Some Questions! We recently finished our spa and we have an extra step between the seat and the bottom. I wasn't sure it was necessary but I really like it. Your PB can add a step still. I've seen it done lots of times and there doesn't seem to be any...
