Agreed, use the sock method.

I think it would depend on the size and quantity of the waste. If you were vacuuming a swamp, it would probably be wise to vacuum to waste, whereas if you had some dirt collecting and maybe a leaf you would vacuum to filter.

I've got a newbie question for you guys. What situation calls for adding salt? How much? How often?

FC is 0.5? You may be in for a short SLAM.

I think I want to redo the entire thing. Could anyone recommend a foam matting to put the pump on? It vibrates something fierce on that deck. Heck, I could move it to the side of the house next to the AC unit. The decking backs up to the slab. As long as there's no distance constraints?

How would I best accomplish that without getting glue everywhere? I'm not sure how rigid the pipe will be to get the fitting in between. Or would I need two of those joiner fittings? I'm not sure there's enough of a horizontal run for all of that. And I'm too proud of these numbers I just...
