My CYA is a little over 30 and I'm leaving Friday afternoon to come back Sunday. I wasn't sure how quickly the pucks dissolved to keep FC where it needs to be.
I think it would depend on the size and quantity of the waste. If you were vacuuming a swamp, it would probably be wise to vacuum to waste, whereas if you had some dirt collecting and maybe a leaf you would vacuum to filter.
So my CC has crept up to something over 0.5 ppm and I decide to bring FC to shock level. For a CYA of 50 that's 20 FC.. we plug that into the calculator and.. 3 JUGS OF 10%?! That's going to cost me $12 in bleach!
...and then I remember the pool store sold me a bunch of **** for $80+ that...
Will be upping to Platinum later in the year. Everyone that has a pool needs to know about this site. The information and combined experience is priceless.
I think I want to redo the entire thing. Could anyone recommend a foam matting to put the pump on? It vibrates something fierce on that deck. Heck, I could move it to the side of the house next to the AC unit. The decking backs up to the slab. As long as there's no distance constraints?

For instance, what is the purpose of the fitting on the return line? And what would need to be done to replace the valve in front of the pump?
Everything just looks like it's poorly thought out.
How would I best accomplish that without getting glue everywhere? I'm not sure how rigid the pipe will be to get the fitting in between. Or would I need two of those joiner fittings? I'm not sure there's enough of a horizontal run for all of that.
And I'm too proud of these numbers I just...
As someone who's never done any PVC work, I wouldn't mind some how-to's or a fitting glossary on PVC fittings. I'm looking to add something inline to my hard piped waste outlet so I'll know if something's going wrong with the multiport valve and am not sure what the best route would be...
The previous owners had the backwash hard piped out behind the yard underground. I wouldn't recommend it without some kind of flow visibility. I lost a few inches of water last week to backwash (I assume) from a worn spider gasket. I originally thought I had a straight up leak/hole until I...
