    Controlling The PH

Thanks again for both of your replies....I didn't understand the 90+ but that makes sense with my PH problem. I see pool math has a range of 70-90+ but the instructions in my test kit says 100-120. I thought I was ok at 110. I'll definitely work on the TA. Thanks again. I also have to read up on...

    Controlling The PH

Thanks for both of your replies....I've been making a mistake by not being concerned with the TA. For some reason I was using a range of 110-120??? I'm not sure where I got those figures. Now looking at the pool math chart I see it says 70-90+ (not sure what the plus means). I'll work on...

    Controlling The PH

Hello....here I am again this year, struggling with controlling the PH. Here are my numbers: FC: 5 TC: 6 CC: 1 CH: 300 TA: 110 CYA: 35 Chlorine (Bleach) 3 PH: 8.2 (I just topped off the water with city water, however, the PH rises rather quickly even without topping it off.) I have been using...

Why is the PH reading high?

Oh yes....I see pool math says muriatic acid...that's what I've been using. Thanks for correcting me.

Why is the PH reading high?

The returns do not churn the water....no fountains, deck jets, or waterfalls, etc. No excessive swimming...I'm the only one who has been swimming since opening the pool for less than an hour a day. Should I use borax to lower it?

Why is the PH reading high?

Hello....This is the first pool opening since we started with TFP. Within a few days the water was clear. We never had it clear up so fast before TFP. Thank you!! My question today is this....I test the water about every day(sometimes I miss a day). I adjust the water according to Pool Math...

    CSI

Oh...ok!. I always add whatever pool math tells me to. If I have my shock level at 16 (pool math), should I add a gallon of algaecide when closing the pool? Thanks again.

    CSI

Hi, I need some help too, understanding my CSI readings. Pool Math says my CSI is -0.15 (target is -0.21). I have a plaster pool..My readings are: PH: 7.8 FC: 4 CC: 0 TC: 4 CH: 300 CYA: 40 TA: 90 Is my CSI ok? I will soon be closing the pool for the winter & want to be sure I have everything...

    Low Chlorine Problem

I have a few questions before I start the SLAMing process. I am considering replacing the water. Even if I get the chlorine/algae problem solved, I still have the high calcium hardness problem which is eventually going to damage the plaster. I might as well bite the bullet & replace it. It will...

    Low Chlorine Problem

I have been battling this low chlorine problem all last years swimming season & now again this year. Last year the pool store just kept telling me to add chlorine & to shock the pool every week. They finally said they didn't know what to do so they had me use Aqua Finesse for several weeks but...
