    Liner replacement on 27'

Yeah, I am planning on sifting out the pebbles. There are three different low spots. One of them isn't too bad, but the others are several inches deep and 2 or three square feet. The old liner as a pad idea was strictly to protect my new liner from sharp rocks making their way up through the...

    Liner replacement on 27'

Yeah, I have been watching videos most of the afternoon. Looks a little daunting, mainly just worried about my walls collapsing while I have the stabilizer off of the top. Fortunately, my pool is 60% surrounded by a deck, which should help a little with stability. I can't afford a pad to put...

    Liner replacement on 27'

We bought this house in '06, no idea how old the liner was, but it looked good. 2 summers ago, we started having issues with small leaks, which we tracked down and patched. Last summer, it got worse, we had to patch at least 7 or 8 leaks, and a couple of them were pretty large. Over the...

    Replace pump, or replace motor?

My new pump came yesterday. I didn't get a chance to work on it until this morning. Took about 30 minutes and the new one is now circulating my swamp. Hopefully I will be swimming again by Sunday or Monday. Got my chlorine up to shock levels, I am sure I will need to work on the ph once I get...

Best time to run my pump

Yeah, I just don't know if 0.5HP will give me enough suction for vacuuming or using a suction side auto cleaner.

    Need New Pump

If you can afford a two speed, it will save you money on your electric bill. If you are on a budget like I was, Amazon.com has a 1HP Hayward for $129 with free shipping. You're not going to beat that deal!

    Problem with pump

Is it a clear Lexan cover? In my experience, those can screw on fine and still leak. I have replaced mine 4 times in the last three years. Twice the cover looked fine, screwed on tight, and I had already tried replacing the o-ring.

Best time to run my pump

It's not a 2 speed. I couldn't afford one, unfortunately. Hopefully I can replace the motor next year.

Best time to run my pump

I have a few questions about when to run my pump, and when to have it off. I have a timer that allows up to 24 on and 24 off cycles. I want enough run time to keep it sparkling, but obviously would like to save electricity too. My old pump was 2HP. My new pump is 1.5HP. I have a 27'x52" AGP...

    Replace pump, or replace motor?

I could not find a website for poolsupply.com. I found www.poolsupplies.com, but the Haywards there were a lot higher than they are at Amazon.com. They do have some cheaper pumps, but they are from manufacturers that I have never heard of before.

    Hayward Whale/Diver Dan/Bug

I have a question about these suction side cleaners. I am having to replace my pump, and the person who owned the home before had a 2HP motor. I am trying to decide between a 1HP or a 1.5HP motor. Does anybody have experience with these cleaners on a 1HP motor/Hayward Power-Flo pump? Is 1HP...

    Replace pump, or replace motor?

I thought about throwing the hose over the side. I don't know how to get it to stay there, other than somebody holding it. I thought that maybe some of the pros on here had a trick they used for this kind of thing.

    Replace pump, or replace motor?

Yeah, I thought about the 1HP, but we are not sure that it would have enough 'oomph' for vacuuming. We are also thinking of buying an inexpensive suction side automatic cleaner, such as Diver Dave or Aqua Bug. Would a 1HP motor be sufficient for those? One more thing. What is the best way to...
