Figured it out! The pump power relay was fried and stuck ON. Must have happened when the original motor fried. I had a spare relay in Aux 7 that wasn't in use so I switched it out and B-I-N-G-O. Thanks for the advice.

Power for heater, assuming so that the heater can only be engaged when the pump is running.

My 2-year old Whisperflo motor is shot. Found the breaker tripped. When I reset it there was an arc from the windings (I discovered later, evidenced by observed soot), toward the back underneath the connection terminals. Breaker tripped again. Tightened up the connections. Reset the breaker...

I know this is old, sorry. I'm looking to do the same thing. Current pump is a Whisperflo WFE-8. Motor (2HP EE FR 3750RPM 230VAC 56Y SQFL) is dead. Understand I need a relay and another wire from the Pentair automation panel. Any change to the impeller necessary? Any regrets 3 years later?
