    I think I have a leak

Pretty sure I have a leak then, but where would the water go? It isn't coming out under the sides or anything......hmmmm. OH well, if it makes it till the end of the summer then I am happy.

    What's your current pool temp?

Mine hit 93 today, so I turned on the sprayer thingy and it dropped a little...still feesl like bathwater.

    I think I have a leak

I have an intex pool, so essentially the pool is the liner. I am not sure if I am losing water from a leak or evaporation, but it is dropping fast! How much water loss is no longer considered evaporation? I live in Se Texas, and it is in the humid upper 90's here. I am not noticing any water...

    Intex Winterizing

I have an intex, it is almost 5 years old and I have never taken it down for the winter. I just pop the cover on, drain the sand filter, and let it go.

My sand is "channeled" how to fix it?

My sand is "channeled" in my filter, according to Hayward....how do I fix it. The guy who came out says is will be $$ but I am thinking that replacing the sand, or even swishing it around will fix it. Am I right?

    Algae or to much chemicals?

As a fellow Intex pool owner i strongly ( very strongly ) suggest upgrading the filter size. Mine came with the B filters( for a 14K gallon pool). The filters cannot possibly keep up with the flow, and they really don't catch alot of algae. I added a hayward sand filter/pump, and my life got...

Add some DE to a sandfilter

I do it, I add about 1/4 to 1/3 cup to my filter and it does wonderfully. I actually raises it about 3 psi, but that's not alot. When I backwash I add 1/4 to 1/3 again, until the psi goes back up. It filters better, it filters out algae etc faster, and is just all around better.

Can't get rid of mustard algea

Are you sure it isn't just "dead" algae? when I have dead algae it always does that puffy cloud thing./ Vacuuming very very slowly usually takes care of the problem. The granular chlorine from walmart has CYA in it, it is the same as Trichlor. Be careful with it, or you will end up draining...

cleaners the hook to water hose?

Do they work well, and is there a best one to have? I have a suction side cleaner right now, but I was thinking one of these would be good for quick cleaning and leaf grabbing.

    Birds in the skimmer basket

I found a fair size water moccassin this morning....I have no idea how he got in there, but I got him out....he won't be back.

    Birds in the skimmer basket

Nope, Squirrels cannot swim, not even a little. If I found a mouse I would probably take down the pool....ICK.

    CYA on vinyl liner?

I hung a sock of it in the skimmer, but my skimmer hangs on the edge of the pool and some got on the liner, and probably sat there until it dissolved.

    CYA on vinyl liner?

How badly can CYA damage a vinyl liner if it is accidently spilled out of the sock, and allowed to sit for who knows how long? I have a bit of a rough spot on the bottom of the pool, and it is bleached, BUT I don't know if it because of the CYA, or a trichlor puck one of the kids tossed in...

    Clarifier, or Floc?

Thanks, if adding more sand doesn't help I am gonna try that.......although vacuuming to waste is almost impossible( pool collapses after 6 inches gone)
