Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

not plaster. Pebble tech is light brown. Well, Maybe the fact that no one has ever seen this is a good sign? Maybe it isn't something important breaking down?

Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

The only changes I have recently before this occured was I put in new cartridge filters, so yes; the flow probably improved some. I also added borates to the pool. Maybe the acid I added to counter the borates knocked them loose? Maybe the borates somehow knocked them loose? I followed the...

Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

I have found about three. This first time I found two at once. This last time I found 1 and it was about a week after the first find.

Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

I looked at the pool cleaner and the intake hole is too small to suck these up without crushing them, so I don't think it is coming from there.

Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

Correct: skimmer basket is by pool, but they haven't been found there. In pump basket on equipment pad; yes. I have found about three (some were broken into pieces so I am estimating). Pipe is 2" I think. Equipment pad is about 20 feet from pool. They are always the same size; I think. As...

Mystery object found in pre-pump basket: Any ideas what this is?

I keep finding these in the basket that is just before the pump (not the skimmer basket). I have found about three of them. They appear to be made of graphite and have a white residue on both sides that I'm not sure what is made of (epoxy maybe?). They break very easily, are very light, but...

CC level is 0. Water is sparkling crystal clear. But they have been like that the whole time, even before shocking started.

Constantly adding acid since starting the BBB. ????

I'm no expert, but my TA is 90, slightly lower than yours, and I add about a third of a gallon (14% strength) every week. So with your TA at 120, and with such a huge pool, what you are adding may be about right.

If you read my recent posts, you know that I had been shocking for 2 weeks, feeling like I was spinning my wheels because I had to go to work and couldn't keep it from falling below shock level. I had managed to decrease my OCL from loss of 6 to loss of 2. In my most recent thread, Shane...

Shock process for people with day jobs?

It has been a bit strange. Last year after several partial drains and refills I got it down to 45 and it stayed there consistently. This year at opening it was at 40, which seemed a bit odd, but I figured maybe I had more splash-out than I realized or something. I tested it a few days ago and...

Shock process for people with day jobs?

A little of both. At first I was just testing after the sun went down, figuring that was a good base-line, then I noticed how much I was losing even after sundown and I started feeding it bleach even after sundown and then testing before bed time. I'm getting the sinking feeling I've been...
