Would the winter closing chemicals and a winter cover help at all?

Hello, My housesitter does not want to care for the pool while we are gone in July. (No, I can't get a different house sitter. I did try). How do I close the pool for 3 or 4 weeks in July? When I return in August, I don't want to start with a green pool. Thanks, Dusty

Last year I removed the pipes from the skimmer and just left the bottom hole on the skimmer open to the ground. I placed a rectangle plug on the water side of the pool. The rectangle plug leaked/moved from the weight of the ice/snow on the cover. This pushed water into the skimmer and down...

Hello, I can't get my water to turn clear. Last week we had to fight algae but the green has been gone for several days. (I still have to do the nighttime chlorine loss test). Any suggestions on how to clean up the water? Thanks, Dusty

I have been doing the slam method to fix my green pool. Of course, this is going slower than I would like. If I add more chlorine, then it is recommended. Is it a bad thing? I need to keep the FC at 12, but what if I brought it up to say 20? If pool math says add a half gallon of chlorine...

So I shouldn't be concerned about the filter not being green? How will the green algae color disappear?
