    BBQ Islands

Thanks for the welcome. A lot has happened in the past 10 years. We retired 8 years ago and quite honestly, 2 years before and since retirement my free time has been taking care of Retirement. You would be surprised at the time involved in managing a large piece of property, Investment...

    BBQ Islands

It has been about 10 years since I visited this Forum. I got an email yesterday mentioning it from a BBQ Island plans customer. The only thread I found that might cover islands was locked so I couldn't read any of the posts. DrDave

Maybe this will work. It is the final video of the BBQ Island move. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcUam6mYaHE

    Bayside Build

I will be happy to share, but right now we are very busy. Maybe Saturday morning I will have time to find the photos and get the link from you tube on the video.

    Bayside Build

Hey Brad What's up? Still following NASCAR? I stopped doing the Fantasy game after most of the players lost interest. Who is going to win the cup this year? BTW, we moved to Fallbrook and had a crane move our BBQ Island to our new home. It had to reach out 100' over the house to place it. I am...

    Barbeque Island Construction

I put mine at each major intersection where the loads are highest. I think I have a total of 7 on mine. I actually flipped mine over and added then years later. Dave

The HB is fine in weather. Trex used as feet will keep it off the ground. Stucco should protect the surface although I don't live in snow and don't know how it holds up in that weather. I do know that I have sold a lot of plans to folks where it snows and some have used stucco. Dave

    Long Time Coming!

Sounds like BW will be building another one soon. I have 6 tanks, so even though it is a pain to refill, I don't have to do it often. I made my Island just small enough so I could load it on a low bed and move it if and when I move.

    Long Time Coming!

The HB provides a shear panel for structural strength.

    Long Time Coming!

I would pressure wash it using a little detergent, maybe a 409 sprayed on to prep first. The only way to avoid it is to not put a brick back splash behind a BBQ.

What did you do for upper and lower vents?

    Finished My Virginia Island

Great job of using the pavers and expanding that tiny slab. The Island also turned out nice.

    Barbeque Island Construction

James Hardi is selling himself short. And I am willing to bet he is not looking at BBQ Islands when he makes that comment. They have a great product. The secret is in the surface protection and the framing. I have Islands all ver the world made with 1/4" HB. We have been doing it for 15 years...

    Any ponders out there?

Nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread. Wow, someone put a lot of time and money into that. Looks like the fence was put up to keep toddlers out of harms way. I personally prefer the natural look. I have several videos on my pond and an interview 8-) that was professionally done on Koi...
