I had the same problem with my pool when I started. Clear water, but green tint. I added most of a bottle of metal out, and by the time the CL and pH got stabilized a few days later, the green tint was gone.

Big R (a farm store chain here in the Midwest) has cases of Liquid Shock 10% for 4 gal for 8.95. 8.95 / (4*128*.10) = 0.1748 per oz of chlorine. :) They also sell Muratic acid at 3.79 a gal... is that a good price?

you might check at a farm store. They usually have 1 cc (same as mL) syringes with or without needles for less than a buck. Also 3 cc (same as 3mL).
