@RVO Well, I opened the valve but couldn't find any issues. I bought a spring replacement kit... I noticed there was only a metal washer on one side of the spring, so when I rebuilt it, I kept the old washer, replaced the spring, AND added the new metal washer to the other end of the new spring...

I've noticed a rattle in my filter multiport valve so I did a backflush (it was due anyway). Backflush ran smoothly and quietly. It also ran quietly in the rinse setting... I was hoping maybe something had made its way into the housing and got rinsed out... But after turning it off and moving...

It appears to be a Swimquip Model U-3 (Pentair?) 8650... And wouldn't the fact that I have a functional floor drain (if I do get a diverter plate) be all the more reason to get the IFCS system working? Isn't that where it moves the debris? The only reason I'd like to get it working is to help...

@proavia Well, the front hole of the skimmer is definitely plumbed to the main floor drain... I just blew a cloud of nastiness into my pool!
