Can you use a vinyl cleaner on a concrete pool?

Thanks Kim, why didn't I think of that? I called Hayward, the only difference is the shoe. You can swap the vinyl shoe for a plaster shoe. Also, it is safe to use the vinyl shoe, but it will wear out faster. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Tapatalk

Can you use a vinyl cleaner on a concrete pool?

Like the subject says, I was just given a Hayward Navigator, but it it a vinyl model and I have a plaster (diamond brite) pool. Can I use it? I tried searching, but didn't turn up much information...

    Water Swap

Well, that was completely unsuccessful. My hose only outputs 5 g/m, which means after a little over 4 hours I only exchanged 1300 gallons of water. Because the rate was so slow, and the relative temperatures pretty close, I think I was getting much more mixing than I anticipated. Results...

    Water Swap

I'm in the process of replacing some water to lower CYA from 80. I'm trying the pump on top, hose on the bottom method. After about 30 minutes the FC coming out of the pump is unchanged, so it is working so far.

After Many Delays...The Stenner is up....

I am not an electrician, but I like to play one on the Internet. ;) I believe that the code compliance of your setup is dependent upon the type of circuit breaker protecting the pump: From http://m.ecmweb.com/code-basics/branch-circuits-part-1 So basically, if an overcurrent situation at...

    Abandoned return?

Did you do anything with it, or just leave well enough alone? Sent from my SCH-I435 using Tapatalk

Florida Pool - High CYA - Partial Drain - Afaid of Pool Popping Out of Ground

FWIW, I can get water in a hole 2ft under my pool water surface. In my opinion, it isn't worth the risk (but I only need a 50% change). Sent from my SCH-I435 using Tapatalk

    Abandoned return?

Interesting. I only have a single jandy valve, between the skimmer and main drain. But I DO have a stub of a pipe sticking up near those pipes that is capped. I wonder if that was originally a vacuum line. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Tapatalk

    Is this algae?

Why don't I get algae in the pool (or fail OCLT) when the water touches it - because I'm vigilant about my FC level? Does applying an algaecide directly work any better than bleach? Straight bleach on the grout didn't seem to do the trick, but maybe a toothbrush wasn't saturated enough. I'll...

    Abandoned return?

I've got this in my pool wall... I'm assuming it is a return that got clogged? It was left that way after a replaster right before I moved in. I have no leaks, and there is no water movement from that pipe. Two questions: - Is it worth getting a cheap USB camera and seeing what's in that pipe...

    Is this algae?

I've had this on my grout and deck corners since I moved in in June. When the water level goes up due to rain, it goes away. When I lower it, it comes back. I've scrubbed with bleach and a scouring pad (even removing grout in the process), and it comes back. I've never (knock on wood) had an...

    Too "homemade"?

Do you have a link or part number for the "micro flow valve"? That sounds like a poor man's Stenner. Sent from my SCH-I435 using Tapatalk

Florida Pool - High CYA - Partial Drain - Afaid of Pool Popping Out of Ground

I'm in the Orlando area too, and need to do a partial drain/fill to lower CYA and CH. I don't want to risk draining, the water table isn't very deep. I bought a submersible pump at Harbor Freight for $36. I plan to put that on the top step of the shallow end, and attach a hose to a weight at...

New Build Frisco TX 1st Pool - Intro & Plan Pics

Re: New Build Frisco TX 1st Pool - Intro & Plan Pics Isn't the Pentair 320 an inline tablet chlorinator? Someone smarter than me can speak up, but I don't see an SWG (I believe that'd be an IntelliChlor to match the controller?) PS: I'm a newbie here, but I just replaced a Pentair 320 on...

    Proper PH Level

Thank you both; I'n pretty sure the 7.2 I was seeing was before a SLAM. Bottom line, now I understand how pH impacts things, and understanding is really (for me) the whole point of being on here - thanks.
