Also I have seen where some people bypass the flow switch in order to assess whether it may be faulty prior to purchasing and installing a new one. Would bypass work in this case as a diagnostic tool?

Thanks, I will look for a replacement. Out of curiosity, why would a faulty thermistor(used for temperature?) cause an erroneous salt reading?

Cell is 2 years old, pool opened Jan 2018. Just out of warranty of course...

It reads low salt on the unit itself (red led), and on easy touch it reads salt level as zero even though salt level is verified both with strips and at the pool supply store. Flow light is green and the pool temp is 64 deg today.

Moved from here. Were you able to figure out the problem? My Ic40 is reading zero/low salt and not generating even at 64 degrees water temp. Wondering if the flow sensor alone would fix things or whether I'm going to need an entirely new cell.

I'm having the same problem with my Ic40 reading no salt even though salt levels were fine. Did you resolve your problem?

ah, that does make a lot of sense. the floater inside the canister must open and close the valve depending on the water level. thanks! i wonder why the pipe to the pool has a threaded female adapter then, i was hoping it would be a dedicated vacuum line but i guess that's not the case. thanks...

hi, after i got a new pool built, was trying to figure out what this canister is on my deck. There is a female screw adapter on the side of the pool that goes into this black round canister which has a floater inside of it. the top round white piece is attached with screws. pic of the plumbing...

it does look sort of like about an inch of concrete could slough off over time if given the chance. not sure how deep it goes. i am still waiting on the final say with the builder as to how they would fix it. thanks so much for your input bdavis. any other opinions?
