Change aux assignment for Jandy RS Indoor Controller

I have an RS-4 with iAqualink . I guess I don't really need it but it would be nice to have physical controls too particularly for guests. I guess I have to upgrade.

Change aux assignment for Jandy RS Indoor Controller

I have a controller inside the house that labels Pool Light and Spa Light. Initially pool light was aux 1 and spa light aux 2. But I recently had changed dipswitch 1 to On to use aux 1 to control Cleaner. So now my pool light is aux 5. My controller doesn't have a button for aux 5. Is there a...

Installing Valve Actuator between wall suction and skimmer/main drain

Attached is a photo of my set up. I've decided to add an actuator there. My question is....is it a bad idea to have flow completely off to the skimmer/main drain and have 100% flow to the wall suction? Wall suction is that smaller vertical pipe there. What I'm afraid of is, if me or someone...

Installing Valve Actuator between wall suction and skimmer/main drain

Thanks for responding. Oh yes I'm sorry I meant suction not returns. There is no valve to control skimmer/main drain. There are 3 pipes going out of the ground going into my filter basket. One is spa, one is wall suction, and last one is skimmer/main drain. There is a valve actuator between spa...

Installing Valve Actuator between wall suction and skimmer/main drain

I inherited this pool when I bought my house. It looks like the pool returns splits off into wall suction and skimmer/main drain. I believe the skimmer and main drain share the same return pipe. There is a valve that lets me manually control the amount of flow that is split from the wall...

    iAquaLink 3.0 Connection Issues

Used to work flawlessly for months without disconnects. It now appears offline and when I go to the box, all 3 LEDs are solid red, yellow, and green, which means no errors. When I check my router though, I do not see my iAquaLink connected to the router. It is on a dedicated 2.4ghz SSID. I...

How much flow is needed for spa bypass?

I've owned this salt water pool for a couple years now and I have it on a schedule where for 2 hours it runs at 2200 rpm so that the skimmer and vacuum can do it's thing. And then for 6 hours I run at a lower 1400 rpm. These settings have been working fine for 2 years but the other day I came...

Question about FC/CYA recommendations in salt pool

I've been using this chart: Chlorine / CYA Chart I didn't notice that there was a separate tab for chlorine vs salt. I have a salt pool. I understand that a higher CYA makes FC less effective but why is the FC recommendation for a given CYA level for a salt pool lower than liquid chlorine...

DE went back into Pool....what to do now?

So my pool person was supposed to clean the filter yesterday. I came home and noticed the pool was a little hazy. I brushed the sides of the pool and dust-like particles were everywhere on the surfaces of my pool forming clouds as I brushed. I'm not sure how it happened but my pool person...

    Vacuum Hose Degraded during SLAM

Just wondering if this is normal and I should have taken the hose out of the pool during the slam? I had my free chlorine around 16 for 5 days and it's back down to 6 today. I pulled my hose out of the pool and it literally fell apart at multiple points. Even the vacuum cleaner has some...

    GFCI Protection

Here's the photo...I didn't build this pool....bought the house last year. Does a GFCI breaker normally go at the subpanel or at the main panel if nothing but pool equipment is on the same circuit?

    GFCI Protection

Ok thanks for the info. I figured it would be a requirement for all pools. My pool fill line is literally directly below my subpanel. Doesn't seem safe.
