Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! Thank you for your advice, I just got my kit (Taylor K-2006) in the mail Friday evening when I got home from work. Excited to get this baby slammed into shape! Side note: It's pretty awesome being a new member to a forum and having so...

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

There is no break on the pipe at all its a clean pull apart, I think that's exactly what it was, you hit the nail on the head.

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

I'm assuming this had something to do with it? How gross. This doesn't look like it's been cleaned in months.

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

Can I fill it back up with the pump off? I don't want to cause damage obviously, but I'm really not sure what to do.

    911 911! Help!

Breaker is off, water has stopped now. What can I do to remedy this? Can I dry off the pipes, prime and glue? I've literally had this pool for just over 2 weeks so I'm totally clueless.

    911 911! Help!

So as some of you know we just bought a house with a pretty messed up pool... I came out from lunch to see this, and I can't get the water to stop!

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

Side note, I don't know how much of a problem the tadpoles will be, I just watched a black racer come in and jump right in the pool and start feasting....haha 2 Options: Should I put water back up to the top, for now and wait until I get the kit then SLAM it? Or should I drain it, pressure wash...

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

Shoot. I ordered the K-2006 because I had an Amazon gift card and I have Prime so it'll be here Friday. Is there other things I need to get it so it's the same testing results as what you guys use? All I know about my pool, to be totally honest is that it's 8100 gallons (20x12 3'-6') and that...

    New Pool Noob Here!

Is it recommended to fill it back up and start the SLAM process? As of right now the brushing is doing absolutely nothing to the algae.

    New Pool Noob Here!

Here is a little sample of what we are dealing with here. My post is still waiting to be approved. Not good, not good at all. We have been in the house for only a couple of days. The entire yard needs work, so we wanted to get the pool fixed so we could jump in to cool off while working outside...

    New Pool Noob Here!

I just did the measurements. 8100 gallons. So not huge, but it'll do once it gets treated and fixed properly! I will get the proper kit that you recommend, and I've been reading the pool school all morning.

    New Pool Noob Here!

Thanks! I did make a post with pictures in the Algae prevention section. It's truly very bad. Only thing I have done with the pool store is buy chlorine! I have a test kit from Home Depot, I don't have if that's worth anything at all or if I should invest more into a kit. I got it because it...

Newly acquired pool in TERRIBLE condition

Quick backstory. We just bought a house going into foreclosure that the people completely let it go. All of it. Including the pool. I decided to start draining the pool because it was so black in there that it looked like it was on a bayou. I wasn't sure if there were snakes, gators, whatever...
