good source for liquid chlorine in northern nj??

i've had good success w/gv 6% bleach but would prefer the convenience of 12.5% LC. definitely don't like the idea of storing LC in the sun. if pelican does it that way, i'll look elsewhere. local BJ's doesn't carry LC. one local pool store sells 12.5% at $5.99/gal. i've been using it w/good...

good source for liquid chlorine in northern nj??

we do have bj's around here, and i've also seen pelican on rt 10 in morris plains (although i've never been there). i called pelican - they do carry 12.5% LC in 2.5gal carboys for $11. those are both excellent suggestions, thanks very much to both of you.

good source for liquid chlorine in northern nj??

hello all, i've been using 6% bleach at $3.00/184oz (equiv $2.10/gal) from walmart/target. it works very well, but i would prefer the convenience of liquid chlorine (pref 12.5%). leslie's sells 10% for $5.00/gal which is not exactly a bargain. can anyone recommend a better source for LC in...

    some light green stains

pollen has been unusually high this year, so that could certainly be the culprit. raised chlorine, then brushed. hopefully light green areas will not return. appreciate the replies, thank you.

    some light green stains

i've noticed some light green stains lately in a couple of places, including seat in deep end, bottom portion of alum ladder and a bit on the shallow end steps. left a trichlor tablet on the seat for a min or so - no effect. however, these stains wipe away w/a simple swipe of a finger. i'm...

    Need help w/vacation plan

i'll be in the same situation shortly. i also plan to bring pool to shock level prior to leaving it unattended for a week or so. i typically filter 8-12 hours/day, but my pump/filter are in the garage and i'm not thrilled about running it while away (even on the timer). sorry if this is a...

    Why Get a Cartridge Filter?

re: cartridge cleaning - i definitely feel your pain. my filtration system contains 9 cartridges, and each one has 64 pleats. if the carts are very dirty (which is the case while clearing swamp at opening), a good cleaning would take hours. two weeks ago i bought the "filter flosser". i've used...

    does cal-hypo always cloud water?

current readings: fc: 7 cc: 0 ph: 7.5 ta: 110 ch: 230 cya: 60 migrating to bbb since i found pool school and this excellent forum. however, i still have a supply of cal-hypo (68%) which i sometimes use to chlorinate instead of bleach since my CH numbers are on the low side. i've noticed that...

first time TF-100 user - quick fc drop 7 to 0.5?

whenever i've used cal-hypo (granular/powder) in the past, i typically add it through the skimmer. packaging states skimmer or adding directly into the pool water. is there a specific recommendation re: methodology?

first time TF-100 user - quick fc drop 7 to 0.5?

water is clear, so i'll try to raise FC to 7 as per chlorine/cya chart. since CH at 220 is on the low side (slightly below normal range)...and considering that i have a bunch of cal-hypo 68%, i'd like to use the cal-hypo (approx 1.5 lbs) to raise FC this time. from reading pool school i...

first time TF-100 user - quick fc drop 7 to 0.5?

thanks for the welcome, jason. it's good to be here! i took your suggestion, and the oto test confirmed the extremely low chlorine reading. i guess it's possible i made some mistakes last night, although i did take my time and tried to be very careful. at any rate, what do you suggest based on...
