    Air in pool pump

Its a variable speed pump, so most of the time its running around 50% I think. I do have it going full speed for about 15 minutes a day in an attempt to help flush some of the air out. During the day the water line is usually right above the basket inside. You are saying this is normal operation?

    Air in pool pump

I installed a Hayward Tristar 900 last season and after doing so I have not been able to have it run without air in the pump housing while using filtration. If I put the valve into recirculate the pump does not have issues of catching air in the housing. I am at a loss of what could be causing...

SWG Wiring with 24/7 VS pump

Got it, thank you. Will save me some money not needing two expensive breakers.

SWG Wiring with 24/7 VS pump

Thanks for the replies. When using the same circuit breaker, should I be just using a wire nut to join the connections of the swg and pump together before going into CB? From my understanding it's not a good idea to have multiple wires on the same post of the CB.

SWG Wiring with 24/7 VS pump

Also, I have two 15 amp GFCI breakers I was planning to use. Should I get a 20amp if I plan to power them both on one breaker? Should I just pigtail these connections together inside the panel?

SWG Wiring with 24/7 VS pump

Thanks for the replies. I am going to be installing a new Hayward Tristar VS900 in conjunction with a CircuPool RJ-60. Should I have these two devices share the same GFCI breaker instead of two separate ones?

SWG Wiring with 24/7 VS pump

I am replacing a 30yr+ panel box and getting new GFCI breakers etc and came across some information that the SWG should be wired on a timer in tandem with the pump. I have not been using a physical timer with wiring connections to control my VS pump and have been relying on the onboard...

Renovation in Northern VA... (DIY and Subcontractor)

Make sure you use a good test kit that does titration. Store testing is inaccurate and can lead you wrong. Surprised your water is so cloudy.

Any pictures of the pool filled with water?

My New Old Pool Dig Out

Will be interesting to see what you find as you dig out more. I would assume that they removed the top of the bond beam all the way around to make it lower than the yard, so you will be have a decent amount of form work there. I would also wonder why they went ahead and decided to fill it in. At...

My New Old Pool Dig Out

Wow, this is going to be a heck of a project. I would not be surprised if the bottom of the pool did not have a large section cut out to allow for water to pass through the gunite shell of the pool. Did you happen to be there when the pool was filled in?

    Bond beam repair

Thanks Jimmy. I definitely like the look of it also, feels timeless in my opinion. I am very proud of the work I did, it's hard for me to believe I did all that work looking back on it.

    Bond beam repair

Kim, I have that feeling at least twice a day. When I am out doing landscaping around the pool and dealing with chemicals, every now and again I think to myself how I can't believe I am finally done with renovation and the long trip its been.

    Bond beam repair

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. If my budget would have afforded it, I would probably have gone with a bluish shade of quartz plaster. However, I am still very happy with the way the plain white plaster turned out and its awesome having a new/used pool.

Coping Repair or Replacement - Cost Guesses?

I can only give a guess on the prices from northern Va, but I’d assume they are relatively close. I would think $7-10k would get the coping replaced and the bond beam repaired. The coping that is there is just concrete that was formed instead of precast pieces cemented in place. How handy are...
