Understood, but only adding 12% clorine to a pool should not turn the water green correct. Without breaking the bank which pool tester do you recomend for the future. For now I think I am just going to shut it down for the season as I seem to have no other choice

I just cleaned the filter and reinstalled it. Why is it only when I add 12% clorine does it turn the water cloudy green? Also if the issue is only algae what do I do to address it? After a couple of days without adding any additional chlorine ot seems to start clearing up by itself

No copper system in pool setup, I guess it was just. A filter I purchased, and am getting ready to order a new filter, should I just get a plain white one?
