down side off pool heater(maybe off topic)

Installed a heat pump last fall. Just got my pool open last weekend water was 44 deg( 2 inchs of snow last weekend). Did my normal start up process a few lbs of cal hypo( I need calcium so this is my additional chlorine go to) and set swg to 20% (turn on heat pump as soon as I could)...

    Pentair cartridge filter stripped threads

It stopped dripping after 24 hrs with just Teflon tape. Pressure in tank is at most 5psi with my setup. Not huge pressure on plug. Will go with RTV if future leaks. May call pentair next week to check on warranty coverage. Thanks

    Pentair cartridge filter stripped threads

Teflon tape did not stop it from leaking. It has a very slow drop drop drop leak. I'm thinking of using an silicone RTV and letting it cure overnight. Then it will be a permanently closed.

    Pentair cartridge filter stripped threads

Getting my pool up and running went to put my filter plug back in and the threads were stripped. Last fall removing the plug was a pain in the butt I think the threads got filled with dirt as they extend into the filter body. I was hoping to use Teflon to seal it but there's hardly any...

First look at Pentair's new IntelliChlor Plus30

I would rather have a warranty based on hours. I never liked how most pool equipment is based on years. Most of us live in an area with partial year pool usage but we have the same warranty on years. A warranty you should only cover defects in manufacturing and you could technically run your...

First look at Pentair's new IntelliChlor Plus30

Im still seeing the IC60 in the range of $1400-$1700 even at the low end still double the cost of the generics. I was hoping cost would be sub $1000 for replacement cell. The IC40 im seeing better pricing for around $1000-1250. I guess a pipe dream to think it will get back to the $650...
