    IC40 replacement

Hi Jim, I saw the serial number and not the manufacturing date on the back side. When I press on More, only the 20% light turns on. This is supposed to mean it has been used for 2000 hrs, correct? There are two red lights come on as well. Attaching both pictures.

    IC40 replacement

My IC40 has not been in use since I bought the house a couple of years ago. Yesterday I did take it out and cleaned it with muriatic acid. I am running it now to see if it shows any increase in chlorine level. In the meantime I have several simple (and likely ignorant, my apologies) questions...

Before I started SLAM, my CYA was 90. I did a water exchange and reduced it to 30. My target for FC was 12 based on that. But during the process, CYA went down for some reason. I tried adding stabilizer but was told it would take sometime to show up in my tests. I am thinking that I should...

    beautiful pool turned dark green

Hi Wireform, good questions. About a week ago, I hang a tarp over the pool which partially protects the pool from the sun. Some of my measurements were done once a day but I added chlorine multiple times. So if it says 3 gallons, that is usually one gallon each at night, next morning and afternoon.

    beautiful pool turned dark green

My pool is now crystal clear. I am close to completing SLAM. It has taken me a week of pre-SLAM work and 2 weeks of SLAM. Here are my numbers tonight: FC = 9.5 CC = 1 pH = 8.2 TA = 70 CH = 900 CYA = 0 My pool became clear 3days ago and it also passed OCLT, but I still had CC = 1. Then I...

Well, the thin tube is full and I can still see the black dot. So it is below 30. I did replace 2/3 of the pool water. Yes, I have a water softener. We have had sand storms recently. The backwash came out very brownish yesterday.

Thanks aussieta. I am still working on SLAM. But when it is done, any idea how to check if swg is working properly? Would I do an OCLT? Here are my latest test results: pH = 7.8 FC = 16.5 CC = 1 CH = 900 CYA = 0

Progress stalled. I have been doing SLAM for a week. Still it is consuming 3-4 gallons of LC and still very cloudy. Thinking of adding DE so I can see better and brush better. 220907 1:50AM FC=18, add none. 220907 7:20AM FC=14, add none. -> Lost 4 ppm in 5.5 hrs overnight. 220907 12:10PM...

Thank you for the support. This is a great community. There is slow but steady progress. I have plenty of liquid chlorine in stock at home now :) Here are my measurements since last night. The pool is a little clearer. I can see the 2nd step. 220907 1:50AM FC=18, add none. 220907 7:20AM...
