Several Cracks around Pool Decking (1 year since build)

Howdy - About 2 months after the completion of our pool, I noticed a few hairline cracks in the concrete decking our builder installed. I made mention of the cracks to the builder, but they brushed me off and said nothing. It's been about a year since the build and those cracks now span the...

Impressions and long streaks in our StoneScapes plaster.

Understood, and thank you for the informative links. A bit disappointing as far as the builder goes, but not unexpected.

Impressions and long streaks in our StoneScapes plaster.

Hi there, Our pool was built last summer and filled in July. Shortly after everything was up and running (and the family was swimming), I noticed a few impressions (like the white spot next to the pool vacuum; there are several and you can press your fingertip into them) and streaks. The...

No pressure: Pentair, Clean and Clear Cartridge 520

Hello Jim, We have a 3" chlorine tablet feeder, but we don't use it. I add liquid chlorine as needed (and check all levels regularly using my test kit and the TFP app). Thanks for asking! :)

No pressure: Pentair, Clean and Clear Cartridge 520

Excellent to know! I am not nearly as worried now. The water coming back feels fine, and I can see plenty of movement throughout the pool. I just checked the relief valve again and a tiny bit of air came out before some water. Perhaps I was worried for nothing!

No pressure: Pentair, Clean and Clear Cartridge 520

Ah, gotcha. That explains why I still have decent circulation at 1200 RPM with 0 PSI. Well, that’s a relief! I am actually in the process of trying to figure out a decent schedule and pump run time. Previously, we ran the pump from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. at 1200 (we can’t hear the pump in my...

No pressure: Pentair, Clean and Clear Cartridge 520

Hello there, Shot in the dark here (mostly because I am not 100% sure what I should be asking), but I noticed this evening that our new (about a month old) filter gauge is reading 0 PSI when running the pool pump at 1200 RPM. I did also notice a few bubbles at the top of the filter basket...

New Pool, Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump (3 HP) Run Time

Thank you all for your responses. I lowered the RPM down to 1,500 Tuesday morning and did not have any spiders or beetles in the skimmers this morning (we've had a few every morning since turning on the pump), so I bumped it up to 1,800 and will see what I get. As evil as I feel about drowning...

New Pool, Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump (3 HP) Run Time

Howdy, Our new, small pool (just under 10,000 gallons) was filled about 11 days ago. The Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump (3 HP) was turned on about 10 days ago, and left to run (all day/night) at 2,400 RPMs. This was done at the builder's recommendation (and, well, they set it up that...

Small Pool Under Construction in League City, TX

I forgot to post an update! The pool was filled about 11 days ago. So far, everything appears to be running smoothly. We've got nice, clear water and plenty of movement. The whole thing is so small that we've affectionately named it our Watering Hole, haha! The pebble is a bit rough in...

Small Pool Under Construction in League City, TX

Hello, there! Our tab loader emptied a few days back and I switched to the liquid chlorine method as well. So far, I've been pretty successful at managing the chemicals myself (well, with TFP's guidance, of course). The PoolMath app and pool school articles have been super helpful! I will...
