Best above ground pool to buy

I had great experience with Pool Factory. Had an issue with pump manufacturer to meet code with a locking plug requirement. Manufacturer would not send electric part to home owner. What a crappy policy. Called Pool Factory and they stepped in and made it happen. And had cost covered for me as...

With bleach expensive and hard to get, whats the dif with liquid chlorinator?

I'm struggling with finding bleach at a reasonable price and appropriate quantity. I can purchase Splash Liquid Chlorinator from local big box which is Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5%. Far as I can tell its same as bleach but twice as concentrated. At $4 per gal it appears to be as cheap as bleach was...

When is water temp too warm to close?

Just cleaned slammed and draining down pool below skimmer for cover. Happened to notice a mention of wait until pool water is below 60 degrees. I'm not but have already disconnected everything. Whats the downside? Low temps will be in lower 40s or 30s next week with highs in 60s. Thanks in...

    Leveling ground

I'm a contractor but you may be able to rent one. Didnt make it easier to dig lol but i was dead nuts level! Rent or borrow a rotary laser with story pole and range finder. Accurate to 1/16 or 1/8 in depending on model. The point on back filling is critical. I over dug my paver spots a little...

Summer Waves Elite -New install-Pump leaking water from bottom- How to repair?

Another thing you can try is plumbers grease. Its specifically for cartridges and plumbing parts with rubber components. Hardware or big box will have it. Comes in a toothpaste like tube. Used it on all my gaskets and o rings this spring and first time opening without a leak.

    Do I have algae?

I'd slam to play it safe but Im conservative that way. I had a big pool party sunday and a bit of haziness today so went ahead and slammed. Been crystal clear all summer til now. At 50 cya your minimum is 4 for fc. Your target is 6-8. It appears you're on the low side. I add bleach manually and...

    Pool won't clear up!

Might be worth visiting pool school to re-familiarize yourself with all that. I use MA to lower ph and TA. Put the pool math app on your phone and its so convenient!!!

    Pool won't clear up!

I'd just add cya based on pool math app. Then bleach at correct level. Cant be more affordable than that. Keep it simple and cheap! I've added cya 2-3 times this year. Never at 0. But rain. splash out and top offs all change it a little. My range has been 30 to 50. If you test consistently, you...

    Pool won't clear up!

I test FC daily or twice daily with use. Ph daily. Once a week I test TA and CYA. Takes 5 min or so. You must know your cya for chlorine adds. Pool math and chart will give different results given different levels of cya. I'd test for cya again, add appropriate amount, and start slam based on...

Whats the best above ground deck mounted pool ladder

Thanks Chuck! Had not considered the bonding issue though should have as everything else is bonded. Thanks for reminder on that! As you said, not hard to do, but one more thing to consider. The stainless ladders Ive found do rest on bottom of pool and deck. Just seem to be poorly constructed....

How to make patio door meet self closing, self latching requirement?

There are a bunch of self closing hinges available aftermarket. HD, online etc. You may find some that match your doors. Another suggestion would be to contact door manufacturer and see if they have a self closing hinge. Garage doors to home are also required to be self closing. Hinges are out...

Whats the best above ground deck mounted pool ladder

Hi Folks, A bit overwhelmed by all the bad reviews of deck ladders for above ground pool. Had a confer aframe before deck. Could buy adapter kit to modify for deck mount. Dont really care for the plastic look though. It would also angle into pool area. Wanted to find a stainless ladder that was...

fc dropped to 0 overnight. must I slam????

Thanks for reply again. They are in pool now. yippee! Yes I've seen chart and use pool math app for all my maintenance. Were you suggesting 7 might be high? I'll do the oclt tonight. Wouldn't cc above 0 give me an indication though of something brewing? What would the difference be in those 2...
