    Storm Debris in Hot Tub

Thanks RDspayguy, that makes sense. I was asking to determine how anal I needed to be about getting all the little bits of debris on the bottom. Your response would mean that the little bits of debris in the bottom of the tub only get filtered if they are blasted up 2 feet into the skimmer...

    Storm Debris in Hot Tub

Thanks ajw22. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I don't any other flow through the skimmer filter except from the skimmer. What piping carries the floor drain water through the skimmer filter.

    Storm Debris in Hot Tub

A couple days ago, we had a storm blow through that blew the cover off the tub, and left some small branches and leaves in the bottom of the tub. I turned the power off, and fished out what I could with a net until there was only some small pieces of leaves etc. I turned the tub on and it seems...

Liner pulling from coping with liner lock in place

Thanks Newdude I put the liner in as far as I could, and closed the pool. I'll try again next year.

Liner pulling from coping with liner lock in place

I was able to put the liner in the channel at one of the two locations using hot water. It's recommended to do this on a warm day when the liner is most flexible, but there aren't any warm days in the forecast, so I guess I'll continue to close the pool and wait until spring. I've attached a...

Liner pulling from coping with liner lock in place

We got a new liner 3 and a half years ago. The install included liner lock, however the liner has popped from the channel for about 6", at two locations. I thought that while I have the water level lowered to close the pool, I'd try pulling the liner back into the channel. I've reviewed the...

Building a Bromide Bank with Sodium Bromide granules

Thanks for all the input, you've made me much more comfortable. James, the Leisure Time bromide looks like exactly what I thought I'd need (and its available in Canada on Amazon.ca) But knowing that I don't need to be overly concerned about building the bank because it essentially will build...

Building a Bromide Bank with Sodium Bromide granules

Thanks Matt. So far I have liked using liquid Bromine. I’m just trying to understand the difference between the liquid and granule sources of Sodium Bromide.

Building a Bromide Bank with Sodium Bromide granules

Thanks for the reply. The Spalife EZ Brom label says 47% Dichlor and 15% Sodium Bromide. The Spalife Shock label says Chlorine Free Oxidizer... For Bromine or Chlorine Sanitizers. It does not have chemical ingredients except in the First Aid warning it states that it contains MPS, no %...

Building a Bromide Bank with Sodium Bromide granules

I have always sanitized my hot tub using the 3-step system described in How do I use Bromine in my spa (or pool)? I used liquid 'Rendezvous Enhance' (35% Sodium Bromide) The instructions were clear that the initial dose was @ 125ml/1000l water. I rarely used the weekly dose of 30ml/1000l and I...

    Leslie’s vs Tayler kit SWG

I assume you have been adding salt to the water recently in prep for your SWG. Salt does take time to dissolve into the water before it registers in a salt test. Was the sample for your home test and the PS test taken at the same time? Or could the home test had more undissolved salt that the...

    Debris Accumulating in Stairs

Thanks for your input. The risk of using it as a step is low. Really only if I have young children over and they lower themselves in or out of the pool especially when people might be sitting on the stairs. But the impact is fairly high so I wanted to see if I could minimize it. My concerns...

    Debris Accumulating in Stairs

My inground pool has built in stairs. I have had an ongoing problem with debris collecting in the stair area. There is only minor improvement when I adjust the position of the eyeballs on the jets. I do not have any jets in the stair, and there is a jet about 2 ft 'upstream' of the stair...
