Update: after verifying that electricity was flowing to the pump, I kicked it and it started working. Sophisticated pool equipment maintenance technique.

I switched from a pressure side Polaris cleaner to a robot awhile back and put a little fountain on the now disused port at the side of the pool, which would create a big fountain if I turned on the old Polaris pump. That pump has since died, and I kind of liked the ability to occasionally...

Same issue. Notably the Hayward OmniLogic iPhone app still works fine. Clearly something has glitched about the Alexa interface, but whether it is Hayward’s fault or Amazon’s is hard to say. Annoying that two weeks plus have passed and it remains.

I see, so when the water is cloudy and then goes clear the cloudiness is all the DE leaving the filter and it needs a full replenishment every time. Thank you!

My pool is built for a Polaris pressure side cleaner and I inherited an old 280 from previous owners. I recently got a vacuum robot, raising the question of what to do with the cleaner port. I was wondering if people who have confronted this issue might be willing to please share what they tried...

FYI Amazon is currently selling these for $799. I got one a week ago and like it. (I know people like Marina's good customer service and ability to swap out to a finer basket if you are in an area that is more about dust than leaves.)...
