Pulling the trigger on a Polaris 9450

Glad to hear you enjoyed the review largent. I have used the remote a few times to spot clean, instead of running a full cycle before company comes over. Or for a few leaves, or worms. I really don't use it that often because the cleaning cycles completely clean the pool. The 9450 will do a...

    Do I need a robot?

If you decide to go with the Polaris 9450 or 9550, it comes with a general purpose basket. You may want to purchase a optional fine sand/silt basket when placing you order.

    Polaris 9550 first impressions

5/23/14 Update I have found starting the robot at the center line of pool, and only rolling off enough cable to reach both ends keeps the cable from getting twisted. While going through a cleaning cycle, the robot makes a equal amount of clockwise and counterclockwise turns. So the cable is not...

Pentair Legend Platinum Tail Getting Stuck

I would definitely purchase a tail scrubber sponge (black thing) for the end. That and the hard rubber rings will keep your tail sweep from wearing a hole in the hose. You can purchase a 3 pack for $5.00 Also if you haven't purchased a replacement hose since 2009 your due. They tend to lose...

    Polaris 9550 first impressions

After ordering a Polaris 9550 from PSW, I received a Polaris 955 (white colored version) within 4 days. It was delivered in the factory sealed box, with some damage from UPS. The contents were fine, Polaris does a good job in packaging. The instructions are very clear and the assembly of caddy...

I need to buy an automatic pool cleaner

The Polaris 9350, 9450, and 9550 are 2014 latest models. The 9300 and 9400 were the previous models. From what I have read, the earlier series had some problems with the wheels breaking. Polaris made the necessary improvements and updates on the the 2014 series.

Need a recommendation for an automatic pool cleaner.

Thanks Schumaker for the rebate info. If you read the fine print the rebate doesn't include the newer robots. It is very misleading advertising. I think Polaris wants to get rid of their older models, thus the rebate.

    Online sales warranty?

I have decided to go with the Polaris 9550 with a 2 year warranty. Polaris has improved the 9550 over the older 9300 series.I will post a review of it. Maytronics lost my business due to voiding warranty of online purchase.

    Online sales warranty?

Thanks Danjaymor. I don't have any dolphin distributors, repair centers, or dealers within a reasonable distance. I would have bought the M5 as you did. But would have to send the unit out of state. I've heard that can be a pain to deal with. Glad to hear you like the M5, and hope you never need...

cement deck or stamped concrete deck around IG pool ???

I have a large stamped concrete patio but went with cool deck around the pool. Cool deck is much cooler and more comfortable on your feet. My stamped patio gets very hot during July and august, and can burn small children's feet. The two surfaces blend together quite well.
