    Help with backwashing

Wow! Awesome post, thanks for providing that link. I will certainly give that a go and see if that works. Maybe a stupid question, but what is the best way to isolate the filter from the pump so I can perform this cleaning? Should I cap it off at the skimmer somehow and disconnect the line there?

    Help with backwashing

Hey all, just opened up our AGP for our 3rd season (specs in the signature). Water is looking great and clear after getting it cleaned out and getting rid of that nasty green tint. My issue is with backwashing. I'm having to backwash the pool after about 8-10 hours of filtering everyday...

New Pool Owner - High CYA after two partial drain and refills

I had a similar situation last season and dealt with a high CYA instead of draining again and again. It ended up not being too bad really, just a little more maintenance than I was used to.

Just got my TF-100 the results are in. Help!!!

You're adding the bleach to get your FC to 12, not the pH. A typo I'm sure, but worth mentioning anyway!

    Fire pits and pools

Our fire pit is about 8 feet from the pool and so far, no issues. Some of the ash makes it way into the pool depending on wind, but nothing that would burn the liner or anything.

18 Foot Pool with Deck (Photos)

Very nicely done! I'm currently undertaking the same project, but 2 decks. One is 16x20 off the house and the other is 8x12 to the pool that drops down from the other. Tons of work, but totally worth the effort.

    I'm confused!!

That was going to be my next question actually! Our pool is in full sun all day long and I was wondering if getting CYA up to 50 might be wise for that very reason. I understand that chlorine level needs to correspond to CYA level, so I'll make sure I target based on the chart. Thanks!

    I'm confused!!

I ran a test with the TF-100 kit on my pool water 3 days ago. Everything looked pretty good with just a little low pH of 6.9, and the FC was at 8.0. I ran another test last night to test the FC again and the test water wouldn't even turn pink after adding the powder in and mixing it. I also...

Re: Texas AGP (Intex) - Will update Thanks for the taking the time to keep this documented, very well done, and a great looking project! The deck looks awesome so far! I'm currently doing the exact same thing, so I totally understand the work involved. Nice job! :goodjob:

First test results on new pool!

That's great info, thanks! I had some pH UP so I added some to try and get the pH up in the right range. We'll see how that goes.

First test results on new pool!

Thanks guys! I think I can manage that for now and see where are in a couple days on the FC. - - - Updated - - - Water looks great as of now, just a little bit of what appears to be pollen maybe floating in some places. I certainly need to clean some stuff off the bottom of the pool.

First test results on new pool!

I received my TF-100 kit and completed my very first set of tests on our brand new pool. Results: CYA - 30 FC - 8.5 CC - .5 TC - 9.0 CH - 225 TA - 50 pH - 6.8 I think I did pretty well for my very first set of tests EVER!! The only one that I am a little unsure of is the TA, as I'm not quite...

    New member, new pool owner!!

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself as a new member here at TFPC and also get a little initial advice. My name is Cory and my wife and I just had an AGP installed on Tuesday of last week. It's an 18' Outback Southport (7,180 gal). I also added some initial info to my signature. We're in...
