Oh happy day! Uncovered pool today.

Yea I guess the light could be plugged somehow. Only the guts come out and the housing stays put. The housing isn't designed to be plugged, isn't threaded, but possibly could be plugged with some kind of expansion plug. I'll have to remember to investigate that. The hole through it is around...

Oh happy day! Uncovered pool today.

Water already balanced... Two gallons of bleach dumped in. Remove steps. Cover. On the mechanical side... Removed pump/filter basket, multi way valve and SWG and store in garage. Removed drain plug from sand filter and leave out. Replaced the temporary stand pipe holder that came with the...

Oh happy day! Uncovered pool today.

Well, don't know, might work. I have 2 returns, one deeper one "eyeball" that I can screw out and put a plug in but one is a combo light/return and it is through the wall about 5 inches below the skimmer plate so I drain the water below that and remove the gus from that one. I'm afraid to...

Oh happy day! Uncovered pool today.

Beautiful Sunday afternoon so I braved uncovering the pool today and re-installing the pump and SWG removed at shutdown to prevent freezing. Well, the water looks... how shall I put it... PERFECT! ;) Like it was just closed yesterday and not 6 months ago... Could not be any cleaner or...

Protective clothing to wear when pouring chlorine

Amazon has chemical resistant work aprons fairly cheap. Might not be 100% protection but one might help and it would be pretty quick and easy to throw on.

    Still cloudy! + raise ph?

Don't burn up a new motor too! (if thats even what happened) Check the gauge and length of the extension cord to make sure it is big enough to carry the load of the pump. Fat cord... and the shortest one that will reach.

Hand holding needed! Water balancing attempt for SWG conversion .

Did you see my linked photo album in my sig? Well first off I had 20 years as an electrician in my first carrier with my contractor dad's construction company so this was pretty much child's play for me. It's about 250 feet as the wire runs from the far corner of the house to the pool...

    Liner questions

Two small divots? Ha! Mine has developed dozens over three seasons, likely from kids playing rough and striking the bottom with their heal. The bottom looks like the surface of the moon at night with the pool light on and it was perfect smooth when new. They used 6 tons of sand, was barely...

Hand holding needed! Water balancing attempt for SWG conversion .

Well my new SWCG works SO good I don't even have to turn it on... :ROFLMAO: But seriously... ...trying to adjust it after the slam. I let the FC drop to 5 with the cover off and some aeration, then I turned on the SWG 12 hr/day @45%, and put the cover back on, FC starts going up. So...

    Complete green algae

I only tested for FC during the slam, might as well save those supplies until you get it done.

    Complete green algae

Make sure to stay with it. Do your best to keep the chlorine at or above slam level. Patience was the hardest part for me! Mine wasn't too bad but I still pumped and filtered on high speed 24/7 until I passed the ONCLT two nights in a row.
