Pool Math - Targets Not Kept

I believe I did pay the $8 last year. Don't really remember, but I do have the ability to export logs if that signifies a paid subscription. Glad you are seeing the same thing I am. It is frustrating as can be. I do not ever foreclose apps. It happens even when app is open the entire time...

Pool Math - Targets Not Kept

I use Pool Math for both my pool and spa and love the simplicity. Not sure I prefer the new UI...but still a great product. But does anyone else have problems with the application keeping the targets you input for different chem levels? For my spa, I keep inputting my target levels after...

Freezing temps reassurance request & knowledge check

Eeeek! Still running, but lots of ice accumulation. Highs won't get above freezing for another two days. Any advice other than try to knock off the ice?

Keeping Pool Open - First Timer Decision

I probably should get a cover @mgtfp . And we definitely wouldn't keep it at 90 in the winter. That is just the standard temp for my wife this summer/fall. @wireform Would the evaporation be worse than during the summer/fall? Would a cover help with evaporation? For some reason I...

Keeping Pool Open - First Timer Decision

I don't have a pool cover, but do have a generator which "should" be able to keep pumps running. I have not yet experienced what the water temps will do in extremely cold weather. I've been running the pumps/heater 24/7 since I opened the pool this summer. Water stays at a 90 degree (wife...

Keeping Pool Open - First Timer Decision

Looking for some good advice from those that have lived this decision before. We put our pool in this summer and it is our first. Everything has gone "swimmingly" well (pun intended) but I'm now faced with either closing the pool for the season, or keeping it open. I'm located in Oklahoma...

    Automation for pH control

    Ouch. Free for $2k. :)

    Salt volume / Pool volume

Makes sense. While I hope to never take a pool from 0 to 3000 again....I would be smarter next time. Interesting comment. I thought I had adjusted my salt to close to 3000 after I filled and ran-off enough....but it has increased since then. The water level was at least 3" above normal to...

    Automation for pH control

Since I started googling pool stuff, I'm getting ads for the Sutro, and other devices, continually. Big Brother is definitely watching. I get instant pH and temp reads from my probes already, but it would very nice to get FC and TA. I'm probably going to go that route eventually. Anything...

    Automation for pH control

Signature greatly improved now. Appreciate the suggestions. Thanks @AUSpool. I was originally targeting 7.5, but have moved that up to 7.7 to be closer to the TFP recommendations. Acid needs have slowed down some. But I'm still going to look into some automation for this area because my...

    Salt volume / Pool volume

Agreed on right approach. But Pool Math would have given you a horrendous target also...if you told it your pool was 35% bigger than it really is. That was really the point of my little story. Know your pool size.

    Salt volume / Pool volume

I have a coral reef tank in the house and lots of gear. Was using a digital Hannah Salinity tester that I use for the reef tank. Was told there was no salt (actually not even allowed for first 30 days), but also tested and showed 0. This was a pool volume issue for sure. Bite your tongue...

    Salt volume / Pool volume

Made a rookie mistake this last weekend, and thought I'd share in case it helps someone in the future. My pool builder "estimated" the gallons of my pool at ~ 22,000. I never bothered to verify in detail, but I read how to do a quick and dirty estimate. The pool is irregular shaped, but at...
