Thanks for the suggestions. Not having any luck with wetvac, I may try lowering a magnet as I assume there is no other metal down the pipe.

Wow I never saw this reply/question. I did replace the check valve but found the real problem was a small air leak right at the pump connection near the check valve. Replaced the pipe and no longer need the check valve at all.

Turns out it was the capacitor!!! I was able to replace it without removing the stubborn screw. Which is great because VS pumps are hard to find and selling at a premium currently. Thanks for everyone's help!

Quick update, it's bonded correctly and no visible burn marks anywhere. One of the wires had a huge gash about an inch away from the end, thought it was going to be an easy fix cutting that off and re-attaching to the motor. Motor ran fine for a day, but then tripped the breaker again. When...

Guess what I found, loose wire from heater connection. I must have jarred it loose with all the work on the board. Fixed that, heater came on, and it seems to be turning off. Everything is working again. Thanks for all the help, much appreciated!!!!
