    Cloudy water

I didn't do the SLAM process because I didn't think there was algae present. I think the chlorine just dropped, so I shocked. If I had algae, wouldn't the CC be higher?

    Cloudy water

First, let me apologize if I'm not posting this in the right place... We opened our pool about 10 days ago and for once everything went fine. All equipment working, water crystal clear. The water went cloudy about 5 days in, however, but pretty sure it was my fault for letting the chlorine get...

    Sand in pool

Yes we did. Since that first blast of sand last week we haven't had anymore coming into the pool, so fingers crossed. Thanks for your response...

    Sand in pool

We had sand blowing into the pool through the jets, looked into it, and decided to fix the problem. Husband ordered a new stand pipe and laterals for our Pentair sand filter. Watched several videos on how to empty filter, install new pipe and refill. He was very careful to make sure the pipe was...

How do I know when the algae is gone?

I have a 33,000 gal. inground liner pool with sand filter. I noticed some green algae (slimy and wiped off) growing on the wall in the deep end, and what looks some like light green staining on the floor and walls of the pool. It doesn't cover the liner entirely and is pretty light. It's not...

Raypak pool heater reading water temperature incorrectly... not a bad temp sensor

Thanks, we've done that already and everything looks good. Also, replaced the control board with a new one. That's why I'm so confused...

Raypak pool heater reading water temperature incorrectly... not a bad temp sensor

My Raypak 199,000 BTU pool heater won't read the pool water temp correctly and keeps shutting off. When we first turned it on to heat the pool, a bad sensor indicator appeared. We replaced the temp. sensor with a brand new one. Still no luck. The heater keeps reading the water temp at low 30's...

    What to address first...

Today's test results: FC 8, CC .6 or .8 (my comparator is a little stained, so it's hard to tell exactly. New one on the way), pH 7.6, TA 170 (It's been climbing the past few days) and CYA 60 or 70 (Husband and I are in dispute. He says 60.) So, what should I address first? Should I adjust my...

    Just opened, CYA high...

Ok, did the extended test and CYA is at 40. Thank you for that link. I think my problem was distinguishing when the black dot was gone!

    Just opened, CYA high...

Did a 20% water change last night and let the system circulate overnight. Tested again this morning and my TA is higher, 160, CYA is the same, 90! I don't understand this at all. Nothing was added to the water since the change!!! I tested twice, same results. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

    Just opened, CYA high...

I retested... same results. Starting a partial water change now. Thanks for your help!
