How long can I run without DE?

So, my pool pump was tripping the breaker when going from high to low speed (was happening for a week, waiting for the pool company to check it out). I decide to do a backwash (all in high speed), to see if there was some variable I wasn't considering. After the backwash, the pump stopped...

What Exactly does “Pool Chlorinator 20%”?

Ok, so I have it on 10% at the moment, it was on this morning, it is now 10:03 and it is not on (says “Percentage met”), so I am not sure about that.

What Exactly does “Pool Chlorinator 20%”?

When it is “done” it says “Chlorinator Off Percentage met”, which leads me to believe it is off after a certain time.

What Exactly does “Pool Chlorinator 20%”?

I have a Goldline (Hayward) Pro Logic system. I have generally been able to properly control my chlorine by adjusting the “Pool Chlorinator %” setting. But, I am confused about what it means. I thought it meant 20% of my pool runtime. So, if I run my pool from 8-5, the chlorinator should run...

    Insulating Water Temperature Sensor

Ok, so I purchased http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FP ... UTF8&psc=1 from amazon. It has made a huge difference. The temperature difference between the different sensors is now about 0-2F.

    Insulating Water Temperature Sensor

Hayward Pro Logic Here is the manual (or a similar one): http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals ... oOct08.pdf "4. For maximum temperature accuracy, cover the sensor and 3”(6cm) of pipe on either side with insulation and white paint."

    Insulating Water Temperature Sensor

For the last two years I have had my pool, it has really frustrated me that the water temperature (that decides if the heater should run) was very inaccurate. If the sun is out, it could be 5-10F different then what either the sensor in the Heat Pump thinks the water is, the sensor in the salt...

What can I put in my pool to make my cleaner not get stuck

We have a Polaris 3900 sport, which besides all the reviews I see online, has done well for us. It cleans, it climbs walls, etc. That being said, there is a corner of the pool by our stairs that is the PERFECT angle for it to get stuck in. When the backup-jet thing turns on, 90% of the time...

    Pump Died, Options?

Believe it or not (and it may have been the other pump), we actually couldn't run the previous pump on low (they were "debugging" the problem, and didn't finish before it died), as there wouldn't be enough flow for the SWG to detect flow. We do have a "Power Fall" (which with the previous pump...

    Pump Died, Options?

So, the pool company is out here replacing the pump (under warranty) with a Hayward Tri-Star Dual (of similar HP). The pump seems to be about half the size of the failed (Northstar) pump. Hopefully it works well for us (yes, it is being replaced for no $$).

    Pump Died, Options?

If the pump lost prime, would the pump still be 100% full of water? Is this sort of thing covered under the warranty (for the pump)? Also, the pump is about 5' above the pool, which might be why they have such a large pump. As I said, on low speed, there isn't enough flow (except immediately...

    Pump Died, Options?

So, yesterday (it was about 90F out), I got home from the gym and saw that the pool temperature read 95F. Realizing that it would be impossible for the pool to go from 85-95 overnight (without the propane running), I went out to the pool and noticed that the pump wasn't running. Hmm, so I...

Fuse Blown in Hayward Pro-Logic P4, what does it "protect"?

Re: Fuse Blown in Hayward Pro-Logic P4, what does it "protec Replacing the fuse blew it right away. Our pool company just replaced the board (I say just, as if they did it free, but our insurance company is paying, so I can deal). Originally I was going to try and repair myself to save myself...

Fuse Blown in Hayward Pro-Logic P4, what does it "protect"?

We had a lightning strike a few weeks ago. The electrician that hooked up our pool equipment came out and replaced some breakers on the pool equipment, but said that the lights weren't working (they said they checked the electrical for the lights, and they were good). I also noticed my Actuator...
