    Intermatic Pool Control Question

This symbol (see pic) showed up on my Intermatic RC2163BFE Pool Controller. I have no idea what it is and I can't find any useful instruction manual online. There was a power outage the day this symbol appeared, but I have had plenty of power outages since I've lived here and this is the first...

    Need Help

Zea3 is right. There seem to be some issues that need to be addressed ASAP, but the test results you posted are a little suspect. For example... TA = 250 Total Alkalinity = 0 This is confusing since TA is usually Total Alkalinity. Did you mean calcium hardness (CH) is 250? Is total...

Pool skimmer and Pump heat question?

The "more push than pull" thing doesn't make any sense to me. The pump has to be pulling in the same amount of water that it is pushing out. If it is pushing out a lot of water, it has to be pulling that water from somewhere. FWIW, I have a Jacuzzi brand pump as well and it is a general...

    Help me diagnose my pool

It is a huge issue for a lot of people, they just don't know the root cause. They work around the real problem by shocking their pool everytime it rains, someone swims in it, there is too much sunshine, someone looked at it wrong, phase of the moon, or it hasn't been shocked in more than 48...

Pool skimmer and Pump heat question?

As SparkMaster stated, the skimmer usually only "locks on" to things that get within several inches of the opening. Even then sometimes things will just seem to defy all the laws of physics and fly right by. A skimmer is usually very effective over a long period of time. The return jets can...

New to BBB; pH problem after adding borax

If you used 14.5% muriatic acid when you added the borates you didn't add anywhere near enough. 19 boxes of Borax with 5.5 gallons of muriatic acid is based on 31.45% muriatic acid. You will need to add almost twice that much if you are using 14.5%. Get that pH in check quickly.

I got my TF100 test kit! Now what should I fix 1st?

No kidding. I'm actually in Haines City so those clouds are visiting me after they finish with you each day. At least the grass is growing again. :?

I got my TF100 test kit! Now what should I fix 1st?

You need to get your FC to at least 5 STAT. With a CYA of 70, you should actually be targeting an FC of around 8. You don't have any CC so you may not need to shock as long as you get the FC up to an effective range quickly and keep in there. Draining to reduce the CYA level is your call...

    FC testing question

I'm guessing you got a Taylor K-2005 instead of the K-2006. Don't feel bad. I made the same mistake in the very recent past. If you can't return the K-2005 kit, then you might want to just purchase the FAS-DPD test reagents seperately as refills. All of the other reagents (ph, TA, CH, CYA)...

    FC testing question

I might have misunderstood what you are explaining, but that doesn't sound like a FAS-DPD kit. Are you adding little scoops of powder as part of the FC test? With the FAS-DPD tests you keep adding drops until the solution turns clear. Therefore, it will read chlorine levels as high as you...

    Spa heating

Nevermind, I figured it out. It seems the "air injection" is as simple as having an air intake pipe plumbed into the spa returns. Or at least that is the way it appears. I covered up the air intake pipe and the bubbles stopped and I didn't hear the sound of something about to explode/implode...

    Spa heating

I have recently moved into a home with an inground pool and spill over spa. A heat pump is attached to the system to heat the spa and/or pool. I haven't really played with the spa too much yet, but I have fired it up a few times and it took about an hour to raise the spa temp 5 degrees. When...

Goldline Pro Logic PS-4 + Pentair Intelliflo VS-3050

Thanks! I figured there would be some kind of incredibly overpriced bit of equipment required for this to work, but neither manufacturer makes it easy to figure this stuff out. Is it correct to assume that without the "IntelliComm" interface the pump schedule can still be controlled, but it...

Goldline Pro Logic PS-4 + Pentair Intelliflo VS-3050

Does anyone have experience with using the Goldline Pro Logic PS-4 control system to operate the Pentair Intelliflo VS-3050 pump? I'm trying to figure out if this controller can communicate directly with the variable speed pump and change speeds for different modes.
