    Hayward C3000 stripped bolt/nut solution

I am a recent new home owner of a pool that is equipped with the now obsolete Hayward C3000 filter. When I went to clean the filters I noticed that one of the two clamp assembly’s had a stripped bolt and nut. I did some research on line and that is when I discovered that this seemed to be a...

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

Thanks. Yeah i can't get them snug on the bottom at all. They move with the slightest touch. I think I will ordered the ones on amazon. Save about $50 vs. the pool store. And I will just run the filter without the cartridges until the new ones from Amazon arrive.

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

Thank you for the link Tim. That looks like the filter I need. To be clear, these filters should fit into the bottom manifold easily without much force right? The ones i have right now that I believe are the wrong size do not sit securely in the bottom manifold. And I have not wanted to try to...

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

The manufacturer, of the filters also suggests a TSP cleaning if stubborn staining is present. I never had a problem with stains like this with our pool at the old house so I am just hoping with a drain and re-fill and new filter cartridges that subsequent cleanings will not show the same...

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

We are in Bakersfield. On city water. I thought TSP was not so great for the environment?

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

We bought the house and pool back in September and this was the first cleaning since then. I also did a complete drain of the pool and am in the process of refilling right now. CYA was sky high around 170. TDS 1500 and Hardness 500. Upon cleaning the filters I noticed they were stained brownish...

Pool store sold me the wrong filters? Okay to run pump without filters?

So the pool store sold me the wrong cartridge filters I think. I have the Hayward C-3000 pool filter. The one that basically is now obsolete. But the pool store told me they had the cartridge filters for this filter still. But the filter says it takes 570xre filters and they sold sold me 580xre...

Messed up: caused superficial marks on brand new plaster

We just had our pool remodeled. Plaster is about 30 days old. We had a big storm here so I used the skimmer net to pick some leaves up off the bottom of the pool. Well turns out the skimmer net I was using had some wear spots on it with metal showing. Must have contacted the plaster surface...

No flow through skimmer basket with pool cleaner operating

No main drain anymore. They filled the drain in when we had the pool remodeled.

No flow through skimmer basket with pool cleaner operating

Thank you. I upped the rpm's to 3050. The pump has a max rpm of 3450 but for some reason I couldn't get the digits to go up that high. I'll look into that latter if I feel I need to. But 3050 seems like enough for now. I toggled the three way valve back and still have enough rotations on the...

No flow through skimmer basket with pool cleaner operating

It's the two wheel model (poolvergnuegen). And it's a suction side pool cleaner. It's hooked up to it's own pool cleaner port (it's not hooked up to the skimmer basket line). But it does not run on it's own pump. The pressure gauge on the filter element is reading about 10psi at 2350 rpm on the...

No flow through skimmer basket with pool cleaner operating

Recently just had our pool remodeled. We also upgraded to a new variable speed pump (Intellipro 2 VST). And we threw out our old Kreepy Krauly and purchased "The Pool Cleaner". I have The Pool Cleaner dialed in at 12rpms as recommended and it looks like it is doing a fine job so far. The pump is...
