Pentair MasterTemp 300 - gets power but no error codes

Then it appears I just never turned the dang thing on again at the heater for everything to work. Thanks for your help!

Pentair MasterTemp 300 - gets power but no error codes

I presume the aqualink is acting just like the fireman’s switch in normal operation, shorting out the two connections when the heater would be on? If so, then the same logic should hold- the unit should turn on again if the last mode it was in was on, right?

Pentair MasterTemp 300 - gets power but no error codes

Well, I feel like an idiot now that you pointed it out- I assumed the fireman’s switch /jumper would force heat on…. With the fireman’s switch in place, I can operate both pool and spa modes using the LCD. So I hooked everything back to the control wires as before. This time, after I turned...

Pentair MasterTemp 300 - gets power but no error codes

That's a negative, Ghost Rider. I plugged in the fireman's switch, and noted the same behavior - all LED's light up for a second and go off (and stay off). I verified that I was getting 24VAC through the test. So... I guess I get to replace my PCB.

Pentair MasterTemp 300 - gets power but no error codes

I've read through the Mastertemp further reading on here, and I've worked through the service manual, but I'm not sure what my next step is. I have an old MasterTemp 300. No changes to my system in many months- everything has been working fine, including the heater. Suddenly it doesn't work. My...

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

Thanks for the heads up - based on what I had read elsewhere, I assumed the Aqualink people would have just said that I needed a "qualified technician" or something to come look at it. If I chose to reset everything on the board and start from scratch, would it clear out any programming that...

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

Oh nice - thanks for the reference! I found a solution! I moved my two JVA's to the previously-unused Cleaner and Solar JVA ports. Then I assigned the JVA's to AUX6, somewhat arbitrarily - partly because I couldn't find where they were being used for anything else, and partly because the main...

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

Gah... I was preparing myself for half that, and that would have still been a blow.... I may end up going through the pain of tracing PCB paths and, if it comes to it, desoldering and replacing the relays if I think that's it - it'd be worth the effort before I spent $1k for a new board. But...

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

That's my fear.... If I end up at that option, how would I go about figuring out which board to replace with?

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

I understand what you're saying, except when I do plug a JVA into the cleaner port and push the Cleaner button, it turns the JVA one way. When I push the Cleaner button again, it goes back. The Cleaner is not otherwise used in my system. This is the same thing with the Solar button and port (and...

Aqualink not turning JVA's - bad relays?

I'm talking about the little relays on the PCB almost directly behind the port - not the large relays used for driving large loads. I noticed them when I was checking the fuse, and they're referenced on page 29 of the Jandy Aqualink Troubleshooting Manual When I say that they operate manually...
