Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@Poolbreh I plugged the spa water feature, and that didn't fix the issue. I now suspect that the spa light conduit is leaking. Do you have any recommendations on diagnosing a leak in the conduit? Can I safely unscrew the light fixture while it's underwater and check for leaks? If I do find a...

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@Poolbreh thank you. I closed both of the spa falls and spa water feature valves overnight, and the spa water level is still draining. I ordered plugs for the spa water feature return line, and spa drain, that I'll plan on installing. Do you have any ideas on what might be going on here?

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@Poolbreh that's correct. Is it enough to close the return valve for the spa water feature in the equipment area? Should I plug the return in the spa itself as well?

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

Makes sense, I'll attempt to do that, thanks. Do you see any reason to continue to keep the equipment off at this point?

    Diverter valve suction line question

@Poolbreh I think this is a key insight, thank you! @1poolman1 thank you! I'm a little scared of installing new actuators on these valves having never done it before, but I'm looking forward to the experience.

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@Jimrahbe thanks again for your help. I'm attaching pictures of the spa water level, as well as of the intake and return valves. I have a Hayward DE filter. All of the equipment has been off for 2 1/2 days now, and the water level is continuing to drop near the pool level. I'll continue to...

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@Jimrahbe thanks for your replies! The spa isn't draining down to the level of the pool, it's still well above the pool, and well above the light conduit. The pool also appears to be losing water overnight, as I'm needing to refill it every day, which is unusual. I'd think that if the spa...

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@mknauss I recently replaced the diverter valve on the suction line, so it's brand new. Is it possible that I installed it incorrectly? @Jimrahbe the spa is draining about 9 inches overnight, and the water level is above the jets, but a good portion of plaster in the spa is dry. I've replaced...

Spa draining overnight; spa return line check valve replaced

@mknauss I closed the two way spa falls valve, and the water level in the spa still drained 9 inches overnight. Do you have any other advice? Thanks.

    Diverter valve suction line question

@Poolbreh I'll try configuring it for 180 degrees. I'm amazed it's been configured this way for 10 years (or was changed recently) and I never noticed. Thank you. Some background: my spa has been draining overnight, and I'm having trouble fixing the issue. I've replaced the spa return line...

    Diverter valve suction line question

Thank you for replying! The return line actuator/diverter valve is configured the way you said, but not the suction line valve. The pins are configured for R90. Why would it have been installed this way originally?

    Diverter valve suction line question

I've been repairing the actuator on a diverter valve that controls the suction lines from my pool and spa flowing into the filter pump. I believe this is the original configuration of the valve, but in my infinite wisdom I didn't take accurate pictures of the valve before I replaced it. Now...
