    Where’d my CYA go????

I knew of CYA loss through anything involving water leaving the pool, but not enough in my case to justify that. However I did search as suggested, and this thread was really enlightening: Degradation of Cyanuric Acid (CYA)) So I took my CYA for granted after so many months. Initial monthly...

    Where’d my CYA go????

First off, I’m one year into TFP after draining and refilling and it’s been a breeze. Following the advice of this forum has kept my pool beautiful and easy to maintain. What I don’t understand is the sudden drop in CYA. Since the temperature shot up, with the pool now at 82 and the daytime...

Raise FC with Bleach, Maintain with Tabs?

I'm a relatively new pool owner (less than a year), and I recently went through a frightening (for a new pool owner) algae (black/green) issue and had a pool company come in to have it drained/pressure washed/refilled/restarted. I've learned that it's likely the water wasn't changed out in 5...

Broken Skimmer Weir Stop - any ideas?

Looks like the answer for me was Loctite Plastic Epoxy. Since my post the adhesive has held up to the weir door continually slapping against it.

    Weird Weir...

I posted yesterday with the same issue (only in my case the tab broke off). If you glue anything to the tab I'd like to know what you used. I used Loctite plastic epoxy which is working so far, but hasn't been pounded by waves from swimming yet. Drilling is impossible for me unless I drain the...

Broken Skimmer Weir Stop - any ideas?

Hi all...first post, and relatively new pool owner (less than a year). There is a plastic tab that is part of the skimmer throat stopping the weir from flapping past 90 degrees. It snapped off and waves entering the skimmer bounce back and push the weir back out past the frame, where it gets...
