Is a "Salt" pool compatible with a "Bromine" hot tub?

Thanks, I've spent the past couple of months researching all I can on pools, and spent very little reading hot tub topics. I will now focus on them, especially sanitizing options. I'll look into the dichlor/bleach method. I'll also piggy-back onto this thread and ask if anyone has any...

    "REEF" vinyl liner by Kafko

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has Kafko's vinyl liner "REEF" for their inground pool? It comes as an all bottom liner choice, or with a border in "Spanish tile/Reef" or "Blue Cayman tile/Reef" for instance. If so, would you have any pictures to share? Would you recommend it (would you...

Is a "Salt" pool compatible with a "Bromine" hot tub?

Thanks for your input. We will be signing the pool contract in an hour or so (yay!), and have included the Pentair Intellichlor as the SWG. I think we may wait and purchase a salt water friendly hot tub, and stay on the safe side.

Is a "Salt" pool compatible with a "Bromine" hot tub?

Hi, We will be installing a vinyl IGP with a SWG, and have the opportunity to buy at a good price a Hydropool 395 self-cleaning hot tub which uses "bromine". Are they compatible? Will we have issues trying to regulate our pool's SWG if we and the kids keep intermixing the water from the two...

    Thin Paver Overlay Remodel

I don't have a pool yet, but we will be having approx 1500SqFt of mortared (wet lay) thin paver overlay around our future pool this fall. We live in Ontario Canada, so our climate is comparable. We've installed 2 flagstone patios on our property in the same manner, and have had no issues since...

DRY-NICHE lights, are they a good choice?

I figured there had to be a down-side! True, if there is a lot of splashing & add salt from SWG into the equation... I can see corrosion issues happening. I won't even bring it up as an option with our PB. Thanks

DRY-NICHE lights, are they a good choice?

Hi, I just watched a video from "Medallion Pools" on pool walls & seating where he quickly demonstrated a "DRY-NICHE" light set-up. The whole system remains dry, and you easily replace the light (incandescent or LED) by reaching into a skimmer type basket/niche in the deck area. This appears...

Heat Pump and Propane Heater combo???

Hi Bugman, Unfortunately for us in Ontario, our propane fees are now being increased by 40%. Thank goodness we went geothermal for our house a few years ago!!

    In-step return/jets quote, too much?

Forgot to mention, for the moment we will not be purchasing the Pentair automation system; we wanted a nice classic looking pool (or at least as classic as we can get away with it being vinyl), no slide, no waterfall, no bells & whistles (much to the dismay of our two young boys). So we are...

    In-step return/jets quote, too much?

Thanks, good to know that after staying up many a night 'till 4 am researching and planning this pool, that I'm actually on the right track to a good pool build! And glad you agree with the pump. My main concern was to have a quiet one for its placement will be close to our neighbours property...

    In-step return/jets quote, too much?

Hi Divin Dave, Thanks for your reply. Actually I have done so much reading on-line (and on this site in particular) regarding the ins&outs of pool installation & its functioning that I actually understood right away what you were asking. To give you a quick idea of our "future" pool, it will...

    Thanks for the clarification!

    Parallel return lines

I've noticed talk about running "parallel lines" in some threads, especially ones regarding pump hydraulics. What exactly does it mean? Is it just another way of saying running "seperate return lines" from the pump? Thanks

    In-step return/jets quote, too much?

Our pool builder has quoted us $1000.00 to install jets in our acrylic/fiberglass walk-out steps for our vinyl inground pool. The pool has not been built yet, we are planning on having two sets of steps in our layout. Is this price reasonable? Thanks
