Ace hardware has a sale this weekend (memorial day) 2.50 a gallon for 10%. I know this is valid in the pittsburgh pa area.

If it helps any..... my pool was built in the mid to late 1980s with poly pipe that just now failed. Thats why I have decided to replace it with the same.

Re: Digging up pipes & starting over: all new PVC, pump, filter, skimmer, heater, etc Digging that trench by hand 3ft deep is a son of a gun! thats why mine are ran at 2ft I had plans for deeper but.... I gave up! I just make sure to winterize properly and all is good. Good luck and its going...

thanks! I was just reading your thread. Looks like you have a lot more going on then I do!!!! Thanks for the tip on there to heat the poly pipe with a torch slightly!!!! Hope all goes well and we are both swimming sooner then later!

They are not swept 90s, not sure why they were used previously, that being said they never leaked...But they are all being replaced with sch40 pvc. Underground I will be using black poly pipe. That is what was there originally. The pool is close to 30 years old :!: and this is the original pipe...

Hey everyone in the SW Pa area! Ace HArdware has liquid chlorine on sale for laber day weekend 2.50 a gal. I think its 10 or 12%. Great deal! I buy my 24 gallons every year!

So I have to replace a leaky underground return line. Due to the routing and ease of installation I have decided to go with Flex PVC. Can anyone recommend the best Brand (TigerFLEX, HYDROFLEX etc) or requirements for SW pennsylvania? Thanks everyone.

I just added a gas heater to my vinyl pool. My Calcium Hardness is 70. In the past this didn't bother me, but should I raise it up not to harm the heat exchanger? If I should raise it, where to?
