    Landscaping Advice Needed

For the attached pic, just use regular fill to bring it up to grade? I have a drainage issue where water flows to that side of the pool. I was thinking to build it up with a slope down away from the pool with river rock on top.

Should I remove the old sand that is there then? Since the new pool is smaller, there is a bunch of sand on the outskirts.

    Landscaping Advice Needed

Looking for some advice. My 12 year old steel ABG finally gave out last month. Busted out one of the walls.......luckily I caught it and was able to drain it before any flood damage. Anyway, new ABG pool built in the existing location, 24' all resin pool vs 27' previous. Everything is up and...

    How concerned should I be?

What about taking the top cap off the post and then pouring cement into the bottom of it, maybe 4-5 inches higher than where it's rusted out? After sanding down all the rust and spraying it with rustolieum or something? Cement would support the load I would think. I read on another website about...

    How concerned should I be?

Thanks everyone. Not was I wanted to hear but what I feared. Seems like my best long term bet will be to drain and install new supports. Am going to check with the company that installed the pool (and replaced the liner) to see if I can make it through the summer at least.

    How concerned should I be?

Looks like a couple of my supports are rusting out near the pump/return area. See attached pic. AG salt pool going on year 10 (5 of mine, converted from perma-salt to SWG 4 years ago). New liner last year so I guess I should have inspected this closer and maybe had them do something then. I have...

    Before I SLAM....

Update: since Sunday night I decided to let the swg run on 100% to try and keep a little FC in the water until I could proper SLAM (vaca on thur-friday this week). I go out after work around 430 pm and here were my results: FC: 3 pH: 7.4 TA: 80-90 CH: 160 CC: 0 CYA: 60 Salt: 3900-4000 per the...

    Before I SLAM....

Thanks Richard. Noted. Between mothers day and our 10 month old, I picked a terrible day to start this. Going to try later in the week when I have the proper time to devote to it.

    Before I SLAM....

Update: SLAM'd today at 11 AM with 6 jugs of 8.25%. Waited around an hour and measured FC at 24. A little low based on CYA of 65-70, maybe because I waited to measure it (doesn't the bleach need time to circulate anyways)? Now it's 4:30 PM and FC is back at zero, CC is at .5. Since I'm new to...

    Before I SLAM....

Just tested and CC is 1.5. My test kit is the k-2006 from Taylor, FAS-DPD. Griswald: I was kind of thinking the same thing myself but am very new to this. Should I do anything tonight then? Maybe dump in required bleach and turn on SWG to see how it tests in the AM? Too late to make a Lowes...

    Before I SLAM....

Opened it up last weekend with the newly installed SWG and am thinking at this point I need to SLAM. I've been unable to get FC going. At first, I added a jug of bleach to raise FC (according to pool math) to help the SWG out, then realized CYA was at 0. Over the last 4-5 days I've fixed that...
