Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

You're absolutely right. Never had this much water loss in 25 plus years. I hate to see the upcoming water bill. I'm sure it will be astronomical. I think we really have narrowed down to a skimmer, hopefully not both. However the repair will be painful in many ways.

Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

Thank you all for your responses. So Pool company tech came over and we blocked the Polaris wall return and lowered the water below the skimmers. Placed a piece of duct tape to mark level. NO water loss. for over a week. He came back and switched all the equipment to filter through the drain and...

Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

I started to notice that the filter was sucking air and discovered the water level was low so of course it would do that. What I didn't get was why was I losing so much water. I turned all the equipment off and ran the hose for several hours allowing the water level to rise. Started all the...

    Tell Us About Your Avatar!

My wonderful golden retriever, Clyde, was more porpoise than dog. He could not stand a moment out of the pool. As long as we were swimming he was in the water with us. He lived a short 10 years. Still miss him.

Gunite Shoot finally occurred today FEEDBACK PLS

One more thing, spring for the best plaster you can afford and really like because every time you look in the water you'll really appreciate that you went with what you liked the most. If you're going to be there a while (15 to 20 years ) the extra whatever it was will be worth it. At night...

Gunite Shoot finally occurred today FEEDBACK PLS

I only have one piece of advice. Make sure when they fill they bring the largest tankers for water or a very reliable source. On our recent re plastering they brought a small tanker and he had to go and refill three times. Even though the hose was kept on while he went to reload it left 3...

    Raypak: “Rollout SW Open”

We have had 3 Raypak gas heaters and had problems with the roll out switch from the beginning. Every time the wind blew in just the right way it would blow it out and we had to get it replaced. They installed the tall stack on it and that solved the problem. Take a look at this video on you...

New Raypak heater made in 2018, installed 4 weeks ago

Here' s how it went. I followed your suggestion and in a casual manner I told him that in the process of trying to figure out what was going on with the heater I started to read various articles and many said to look at the serial number and model. Then I told him that I checked it out and...

    Heater Plumbing suggestions

You're welcome will be glad to send more if it helps you in anyway. If you have not purchased the heater I found out that from 2019 forward they are equipped with Protek Shield. This extends the life of the heater.

New Raypak heater made in 2018, installed 4 weeks ago

This new knowledge is driving me a little crazy. I don't know if I'm being too picky and some advice from cooler heads in this forum may help a lot. We negotiated the pool renovation, replaster etc plus a new Raypak P-M336A-EN-X for our 20,000 gallon pool. Finally was given the go ahead to run...

I don't know if it helps, but at least you have an idea how this one is set up. A lot depends on the space available. Good luck.
